Well, his wife only plays games with Crash Bandicoot so….
People fall into the bad habit of comparing different games. As if all RPG games should all play a specific way with a specific feel with only certain kinds of dialog.
He prolly goes to the museum and complains that all the paintings don’t look the same
These days, The Guardian wears its political colours lightly. It seems to have finally accepted that wherever socialism has been implemented, it’s either led to despotism or economic collapse - often both.
I think young Dominik is upset that the game doesn’t show capitalism collapsing under the weight of its own contradictions, like Karl Marx said it must.
Oh how I wish the concept of “greed” didnt exist in anyone.
Brief rant:
Jokes aside for the moment, this has been true the majority of my life in the US. I grew up somewhat “poor” but we always had just enough to get by. However, I was a very social person growing up so I got to make quite a lot of friends. In time, they all got jobs in areas I was not very skilled in. Pretty much every job i have ever had(around 15+ or so?) were because I knew someone. And each job was often in a very different field of work.
I never took that for granted. because,
A.) I knew people probably hated that I got the job at these places where they were more qualified for and
B.) I never went to college, just a vocational school, so I always gave it my all to learn everything I could at every job, ask several questions, take notes on EVERYTHING and took it personally to make sure I was the absolute expert at the job I was hired for, and as fast as possible, and I always did just that and
C.) My buddy’s reputation is on the line if I dont appear to be the absolute best after they recommended me.
Today, i’m not poor anymore(but not rich either, just better off than my parents were), so thats nice, but after I was laid off earlier this year, I still cant find any work. I even tailor, every resume and cover letter to each and every job I apply to.
And these days, many of the people I know have moved away and many of the connections I made at all the jobs I’ve been to have either moved away too or ALSO been laid off and are struggling to get work. Good thing I had a nice savings for times like this.
Yay, capitalism.
ANYWAYS, back on subject:
Currently playing The Alters. So far its been a really enjoyable game! But is The Outer Worlds 1 & 2 any good? Im not sure if I want to get into them but since ive been out of work and have way too much free time now, im feeling like giving-in and buying it.
If you just run to complete the main mission, you miss the connections between everyone.
If you see each side mission thru before working the main mission, you will get more out of the story.
Is it good, is it bad? I think that answer will really depend on who you are.
The game mechanics work well. I enjoyed the exploration. I also enjoyed getting to know my crew and running their “loyalty” missions. I also enjoyed seeing my ship gain different bits and baubles from the places I visited.
Well, Im not exactly a purist when it comes to games and their genres. I can like a game when developers think outside the box, or when they stick to a usual formula. If its fun, its fun.
That said, I love exploration. I love action. I love games with lots of lore. I dont mind lots of dialog if its actually doing character development and world building, I only get bothered by it when it rambles on and goes nowhere too many times.
Hmm.. ill give it a go after beating The Alters. So far that game has lots of dialog too but its all relevant to each characters backstory and how things play out. Been quite entertaining.
I didn’t play the first one much at all but really enjoyed the second one.
No over encumbrance/inventory limit and there arent a million items to pick up so you spend a lot more time exploring and interacting with the world than inventory management which, for a game like this, was a breath of fresh air.
For all the complaints and outright fury I have seen over the McKenzie character, I don’t get it. The guy is not only NOT annoying, he fits the story. Once you escort him to safety (and I think the intro to the character, trapped in a dangerous situation but musing about how at least he isn’t stuck in a cubicle with Phil any more, is fairly amusing) you then only hear from him at certain points and it is very brief.
But I do have 2 complaints
In this day and age of gaming, it is really intolerable to see
save points
Die and you may have to rework the entire level
difficulty lock
Thought you could play on normal but just keep dieing from that one boss? Too bad. The only way to change difficulty levels is to start a New Game
Well I wasn’t able to get my jacket and my plushies are apparently visiting all 18 quintillion planets before coming to see me, so I consoled myself with these.
I haven’t had a tracking update since the gek plushie landed in Amsterdam a week ago. I truly do believe they have stayed there for the nip nip bud now and I have accepted their decision. I know they will be loved <3
Or maybe it has something to do with our postal service announcing just last week to expect massive delays going into December and up to Christmas. No… that’s crazy, definitely the former.
I have a feeling that, if it wasn’t a publicity stunt, a dev for Once Human was using an A.I. 3D model generator that was trained on HG assets and it accidentally pulled the asset as a whole and didnt change anything but added a bike.
Either that, or paid for some cheap overseas 3D modeling service and they pulled a fast one on them.
Good point. Thats also a possibility. But I would imagine that we would have seen that asset in more places by now if that was the case since its been used in NMS for maybe 8+ years now. But who knows.
Either way, i loved SM’s response of basically “Lol… so anyways…” I feel like I would have handled it the same way too. Its not hurting anyone, the other company is on top of fixing the issue, and its free publicity, so why do anything else but make a joke of it and move on.
