To be fair, the majority of the long-time NMS players already know not to get expectations high and expect the update to be something small. The others that started playing only 1-2 years ago likely already know as well, considering that the updates release frequently, they have seen enough to already know the pattern.
I think these content creators are just being as clickbaity as they can to get for views. Specially because the NMS content is dry for like a month and a half and then suddenly gets news or an update so they all post at the same time and try to get creative with their titles and thumbnails to draw attention to themselves over the others that are flooding the feeds.
Perfect example: When the station models were found, it was the thumbnail and title for many. All those saying “whoopsies” for the spoiler were also long-time NMS players and knew better than to spoil it like that. They just wanted the views and didn’t care who it ruined it for.(I refuse to watch their videos now out of protest)

Someone made an ooopsie. Publishing web-content is such a tricky thing!
We kinda expected the autophages to be a new race. We could even already gather the parts to look like one, so not much of a surprise there.
The staff thing sounds weird, but I guess it’ll make sense in context. The staff shown in the image looks cool, at least.
And then there’s the capship battles, which sound rather exciting - on the one hand. On the other hand, it sounds like this is a completely new type of ship, not an extension of functionality of the old ones. I do hope that the old freighters also get a bit of agency along with this. The only thing I can tell by the image is that apparently the new freighters can engage other capital ships, but whether or not they can respond is a bit of another question…
No new stations yet, judging by the image. But probably a whole bunch of minor tweaks and features that might turn out very worthwhile. I hope one of them will have to do with settlements, as there’s a settlement to the right side of the image. Might just be that they needed something to fill in the void, though. Looking forward to this.

I’m fine with leaks and spoilers (this close to release…and not intentionally breaking trust)…I just don’t like when people promise things that are unrealistic.
A few of the Youtubers said directly, I guarantee this one will be HUGE.
