I love the stuff - but I freely admit it’s an acquired taste. Spread thinly on hot buttered toast - yum yum.
Good stuff. Had Marmite and Vegemite when I was a kid.
But Cenovis i liked better !
Just asking because my son seems to like it
But he also likes chicory coffee
So I am not too surprised
I’ve had Promite (& quite like it) which I believe to be similar. I think they are all toned down versions of Vegemite which is really powerful & too strong for my taste.
I like Cafe de Monde hickory coffee, but only with creamer and sugar. We had that each morning as we started strolls around New Orleans years ago.
Now I buy their coffee by the can, including a decaf variety for late afternoon and evening enjoyment.
Marmite have a unique marketing strategy - one that would probably only work in the UK. They openly advertise that lots or people hate Marmite. In this ad, to the point where it makes the guy throw up.
I have it most days. It does need to be spread thinly - like the toast was done for slightly longer than it actually was. It must not be spread like any other thing you put on toast.
It makes a good hot drink too, especially for vegetarians. Just add a teaspoon to boiling water, or to taste.
Elton John edition ???
I’m still standing after all this time
Tasting strong and bold like bread with butter and marmite
I’m sorry…
I’ve never tasted marmite, but the U. S. Had a odd-tasting drink called Moxie. It’s sweet, herbal, and with a bitter aftertaste. The base is gentian root. Some love it; many hate it.
The phrase, “He’s got moxie!” implies courage and daring.
In the French Alps gentian is used to make eau de vie. It’s quite bitter too.
Marmite (shudders) , Piers Morgan (shudders) , Piers Morgan covered in Marmite (mental breakdown)
On the other hand, Piers Morgan covered in Marmite would, for some, be very toothsome. Something might eat him. Win /win.
I feel sorry for the animal doing the eating.
It’s only Piers’ personality that’s poisonous. I’m sure the protein is fine.
No thanks. Its not really a popular thing here, only for traitors. I may be speaking from trauma having been victim to a marmite and vegemite prank in my youth.
Thats probably its main use here. To con people into eating yuck.
Im also aware theres some sort of civil war between those who prefer vegemite and those who prefer marmite.
