I am playing the Liquidator Expedition on PC and decided to use my console playthrough to make some shortcuts and save on warp fuel
I joined my PC session with my PS5 playthrough and then used the space station terminal to teleport to the system for the second rendezvous point.
I then entered the Nexus with my PC player (the host of this session) and exited to get the exit option for warp calibration with group. I chose to warp to my PS5 players system.
I ended up in not that system. Or any system apparently. The discovery tab shows no name for it, however a name does appear on ship readouts and visor displays. The galaxy map just shows a big black nothing. Planets have names but seem suspiciously placeholder/debuggy.
I could see the ps5 players freighter was in the system, but at the centre of the space station, as was their icon. Summoning my freighter onPS5 to it’s correct location removed the icon from the PC players “system”.
No attempt of entering and re-entering the nexus would prompt for a re-calibration with group. Even moving PS5 character to a new system did not cause the prompt to happen. I chose to use the Nexus terminal to teleport to a previous space station.
This odd system is stil in my list of space station teleporters so I may try revisit it later after a restart.
Has anything like this happened to anyone before? Stuck in a weird system, with not other systems around?
Oh crap… Was I supposed to get Artemis out and I dropped the ball completely?!

so it’s a known bug
I feel like I just crossed paths with the flying dutchman or passed through tir na nog briefly.
They’re known as phantom systems, and you can use them to warp to other galaxies quickly apparently (by way of bug).
I knew there was a whack of backdoor debug silliness to it when I saw those planet names.

It seems there are many paths to Likholu, every one as mystifying as the last.

Something similar but different happened to me.
I warped to a system, and went to the space station. About 5 seconds away from entering it, the space station turned into an entirely different station. Also, the huge planet that was behind it completely disappeared and 2 other planets appeared in its place. I have no idea what happened and it was the first time experiencing that bug.
The system in the discovery section and all its planets where none of those in the system i was in or the previous one either.

Cool so we’ve all been met by visions of the same system… Guess that means we’re chosen ones… and like all good sci fi shows, we’ll be cancelled after 3 seasons with major questions left hanging in the air.

Interesting. I have warped to 90 something galaxies and never encountered this ghost system. I guess, one day, I will jump into the sim and find everyone has been raptured away… except me…

That’s the unique lore No Nan’s Sky is famous for…
I’ve never been there, but a few years ago it was a big topic when many players found themselves there involuntarily. I think it was the default choice in the teleporter list and everyone thought, “hold on, I don’t remember a base with that name, let me quickly check what it was…” And then they couldn’t get back.
Search forums for names like Likholu, Nasher, Odyalutai, and Hofunakab, to see more players telling similar stories over the years. Maybe one name will trigger your memory - someone had renamed the main planet of this cursed system Bensavirgin…
The planets there used to have hundreds of bases on them since every stranded player tried to build a teleporter. You couldn’t get out of there without a save editor, it was a big topic.
PS: I’m really curious what the technical side of this bug is. I know in programming, things get weird when values are out of bounds (zero, or negative, or too large). The game still goes through all the steps of generating a system and planets, down to procedurally generating names (within each platform, affected players reported the same galaxy/system/planet name). But then other parts, like listing teleporter options and neighbouring systems, comes up empty.

I probably should have added that the day that the system that I was in that suddenly thanos-snapped into a different system happened yesterday, during the expedition.
It might be unrelated to toddumptious’ and the other’s issue because they all got trapped. I was able to leave the system I was in with no issue, the entire system was just bugged and didn’t know what system it was supposed to be.
