Wait, wha… oh. OH! Dammit, I hadn’t even realised that. So she’s definitely connected to the Korvax. And probably heavily traumatised/insane. Oh goody.
Wasn’t that stated almost plainly? It is the tool the korvax used to subvert the Geck, so if they’re in like half the oceans in the universe, it stands to reason that that would have… similar effects on others.
The question now becomes, though, how does the Atlas fit into it? According to Korvax cannon, the nanites essentially converted the Geck to the Atlassian religion. If they were seeded by the void mother, why would that be the case?
Don’t drink the water. Stay out of the water. I just want all of this story to come together and it looks like it will but what the heck does water have to do with all this electronic stuff? Maybe it is all liquid cooled? ok. Covid is making me delirious…going back to bed now
Yes, I agree. The art style of the new SS exteriors is the same as the new interceptor ships and the larger new multitool (fine tech detail), but is this because it’s just the art style of a new designer in Hello Games, or the architecture style of a new race?
I hope changing their looks has something to do with the interaction in the Korvax Space Stations and other stations remain the same, otherwise, these will lose their specialness…is that a word?
its hard to say. Other improvements have replaced completely what came before…they also have shown to keep old versions around in come case…I’m really okay either way. I think feeding the station more was lore hints than hints at a remodeling but one never knows.
Honsestly, I like the brutalist geometric look of the space stations. In my opinion they should be larger and have variation in the interior spaces, but I am rather fond of the exterior design.
And, really, compared to pre-launch alpha designs that Sean showed, the current space stations have “great” design exteriors. The earliest models looked like smooth polygonal shapes.
Nonetheless, I list for those designs found in game files. I kind of suspect that we were meant to discover them to keep mystery and interest high.
Probably the case. These days, information security is always improving with each hack/break through/mistake. Its hard to believe its a “leak” or an “accident” when every major game company has them… repeatedly.
I do think that the “found” designs seem to imply a much larger space station “community” than the current “park and shop” style. Each could have its own place in the No Man’s Sky Universe. Wouldn’t that be nice.
I dont think your ever going to see multi floor space stations etc…don’t get me wrong I all for it. But Nintendo Switch. They cant have settlements due to the complexity and procedural nature of them…they would break Nintendo if they even tried to vastly create procedural interiors. And since the models exist for Nintendo, its a safe bet these are shells only.
It would be possible by using separate maps. Lots of games use the trick where as you walk down a corridor, through a door, or use a teleport, you actually transition to a different map.
As long as the player remains within an enclosed area, they will never know - and it allows the developer to limit the amount of memory used.
sure if you have old stations for switch and new for everyone else. However then you have issues players not being able to be in the same instance as other platforms. I mean were not talking just LOD.
They could use the same generator that they have in derelict freighters for rooms in the space station. Are derelict freighters available for the switch? I’m not sure what they would do with those rooms, but they could do it.
Unfortunately its more complicated than that, Your dealing with NPC pathing…Its not that they cant do it. But there are clearly limitations. I think you would see settlements on switch before procedural interior stations.
I dont expect to see many new features that aren’t available to all. Especially with Mac coming. Thats a lot of different code bases to support.
