Colonies in NEXT: What do you you think this will involve? Discussion

What would be cool is if a group of friends could setup there own trading post where other travellers can buy/sell stuff

Trading hasn’t been announced as a feature yet and to be honest it seems kind of pointless…units are so easy to make now and the needed materials for stuff aren’t terribly hard to find if you know where to look. Though there might be some indirect transfer of resources if shared building is what it sounds like. You could build a resource intense thing and then your friend could dismantle it and get the components presumably. But probably nothing like actual store type trading.

I’d really like to get a base expansion (2000+)!
For me and my humble opinion, maybe that little ā€œcityā€ that appears on the Xbox cover is related to base building!
Just imagine guys 2000 constructible units…X4?
I can only imagine a 8000 units base!!

My first base boasted 3 landing pads complete with a pilot lounge ready to welcome travellers, NPC’s only ever used one pad and travellers couldn’t bring their ships. Bit of a waste of time really.

I built a hotel that had 6 pads and stacks for guest, this was in creative, but at least I know I am not the only one. I think reported that bug at least twice in 1.2(glad to see hopefully the fixes are rolling in for this).

When I read ā€œcolonies,ā€ I pictured hub Intergration. Some things to make it so…

Discoveries tab should have filters for encountered, my disciveries, and colonies. The systems should also show who is currently in that system.

Trade terminals should have the option for Galactic or Colony trade. Maybe blueprints could be shared this way, too. The Colony trade pool would also work as the shared resource for shared building.

Blueprints available to colonies only, like multi tool construction, starship fabrication, or even a CAD station to construct new blueprints.

Squad tab. Nuff said.
