Beyond Insanity?

I’m finding it worth it to exchange the nav data because they sell for twice the price once they are converted. A little help for the unit-poor noobie.

I like to keep a couple on hand in their original type in order to call my ship to a post or landing pad.

I am having some issues with the Space Station marker as well. It does not show until I get far enough out of the planets atmosphere and then, if it is on the other side of the planet, it will not show until I get far enough over the horizon. Then it shows fine but, it does leave me wondering where it is sometimes.

I noticed in a newer game that the Space Station icon doesn’t appear until after you reach a specific point in the storyline playthrough.
However it is easily found using first person view in the ship and looking for the diamond on the radar.

I noticed that too, but it was pretty short into the tutorial, so I would guess zsigmond is there already (if he even started a new game). You get the markers way before the hyperdrive, for example.

no i’m there yet, just put down my base computer, 7+ hours into the game.
My ship is a backer pre-order ship, comes with hyperdrive and rocket launchers, lol

Huh… So you haven’t yet received the mission to go to the space station? Then that would indeed be the reason why the icon isn’t there yet.

that is why i sarcastically said hurry hurry hurry in previous post.
The game pushes you to finish the tutorial.
lol
Way I play, hell my backpack can hold thousands of resources with only 25 slots.
Filling it up t o build my base with salvage.
Then I need to do that all over again to go to the Nexus to get all the plans located there.
There is no need to hurry.
Planet weather is good.
mean creatures live under ground.
easy
shooting the rocks in space gives me anti-matter.
The gold and silver gives units.

lol

That’s the way…
A cruisey traveller is a happy traveller :+1:

On my recent test play before returning to an existing save I did about 7 hours too and only had a battery powered teleporter in a shack.
I spent ages just wandering and collecting before I even launched my fixed Radiant Pillar.
NMS is best when played in chill wanderer mode

That is what was the original idea Sean talked about.

Wife and I liked it that way.

Now she will not play it at all.
She deleted it off the PS4.
To her and I agree, HG destroyed the way it was to be played and was for 2 years.
Now I still do as I do.
I see the changes and blame them on EMILY!

HG could not care that Mad-Hatter and I just want to be Wandering Travellers

You can add me to that list, too if you like. <3

I just want to experience the game by roaming and gathering and being awestruck with wonder at the created universe.

Mrs Mad still plays & is actually running a couple of permadeath saves…and she isn’t even much of a gamer. Just NMS.
I hope Mrs Ziggy comes back to it as it is very beautiful now. The tech isn’t as complicated as it first seems.

Also… Has anyone noticed how much the vibrant colours have returned.?
Absolutely stunning on a 4K TV.

Here are the scanner/visor showing the outpost not showing up.
Since I know to watch for space craft circling the wagons, I was able to locate the outpost.

Other building type of unknown are in the area.
Will be checking them out shortly.

Also the NPC’s inside come outside, sit on the chair and interact with items out side

Like / dislike? The questing system was not thought out correctly.
I am at 48 hours in.
I learned the storage chest 0 already and not have to do it again?
I’ve learned the Atlas Pass 1 from manufacturing, will I have to learn it again?
I was given Atlas Pass 3 in Nexus, will I have to learn it again?
I have collected all the blueprints I can from construction computer and Nexus, how many of those items will be required to learn again through the questing system?
A lot of more working out the insanity seems to be in order!!!

Also, I’ve met 40 Aliens.
I’ve learn over 300 words.

Tis nice to take it slow!

I agree that it would be really helpful for:

  1. Those of us who prefer to slowly explore, and
  2. Those of us who are very tired of doing the story missions over yet again,

To have completely alternate paths to get all the items we need to enjoy the game.

But I think they left out a few things in the alternate/ simply-explore path. (cough Save Point cough)

Still, they have been working like dogs to make everything work as well as they can in a very short time.

I am extremely happy to have the N/S compass back, for instance.

Another issue which I think is an issue and has been since the first time I completed it.
The story of the quest line with the NPC’s you hire.
It is not logical when the NPC’s say they have the right t odo what they do and then
they get disconnected, family murdered, etc…
Tis destroys the story for me. :frowning:

Hello games has added toooooooooooooooo many waits in the dialog.
Example is the abandon building terminals … you get to watch the . appear before you can click to clear it, 3 of them

I have noticed that once I have a recipe etc…if it comes up in a quest, after a few seconds, it will be checked as completed. I have done all but the Atlas Path and did not have to repeat anything.

I also noticed how long it takes to show something is completed.
That area needs optimization!

You can still learn the recipes the old way, the new ways via nexus etc are just an alternative measure for those who want something immediately instead, it gives more options for different playstyles, I bought stuff I wanted immediately on my new playthrough and I also have some stuff unlocked via base missions etc that I haven’t even started the research tree for on nexus. I haven’t advanced much in main story so have yet to be gifted the atlas passes, I also have done very little with operation and munfacturjng centres so still haven’t discovered recipe for one. 40 hours in (though ships move much slower in VR and no jetpack melee boost etc, so comparable to a 20 hour game maybe :joy:)

I do not know if bloody Hello Games realizes the issue with the Nexus is the noise.
Do they not know that noise will permanently “drive” players over the edge?
The background noise is a pulsating nerving killing noise. Needs to be removed.
This is not a request. That noise makes the Nexus a place I do not wish to go to.
Is that part of the plan of insanity?

It is the sound Emily transmits to drive us to the brink of submission. And then when the time is right… Well I’m not going to pretend to understand the grand scheme of what is essentially a god.
