Base Building

I didn’t have to sell my contraband. I just landed at the trading post, with the feathers in my inventory, and the milestone popped up. I sold the stuff anyway - dangerous to keep it, and it was worth more than twice what I paid.

The view from my latest mining base, Fort Silver

Hopefully, if anyone sees the picture at the anomaly and thinks “green grass, blue skies, what a nice place to visit” and ports in, the interior

Gunrack, ammo locker, no frills; will give them a hint that they do not want to go out that door without having their weapons ready. I had to kill like forty sentinels getting homed in on the deposit location. I thought it was pretty amazing that it turned out to be right at a really great viewpoint. No pipeline required.

Japanese player so probably built it in galaxy 216 but can’t wait to start adding bases like this to favourites

Started building… something…

It’s not sure what it is yet but I look forward to finding out

Built a little patch for catching Oceanic Planet fishies. Kept it simple and symmetrical

Those stone archways phased right into the middle of the doors with a single use on both sides by aiming through the moon pool at the support beam directly under the door. Was very easy to achieve. I might swap the doors out for underwater ones for the beam effect with the arches.

Things the water world surface and their new reflections make me want me to recreate…

In case I don’t see ya; Grahafternoon, Grahevening and Grahnight

Gas giant fishing is a go, time to put some podcasts on and get those last legendary pokéfish

The new lighting system is a lot less glaring and actually lights objects, it really makes cave bases all the more cosier :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I found if I just portal into the base, and don’t leave the cave or go up to the surface, the tornadoes don’t seem to spawn in or bother me

So this confirms it. I thought the tornadoes were chasing me down

The lush world cabin I was building was in a Korvax controlled Outlaw system, so it felt appropriate to try create some sort of wall signia.

Revisiting my bases for the first time since Worlds 2
J’Nanin has long been my favorite base. The update has given it a whole new feel.
If anyone would like a day trip.

This is almost too embarrassing to post.

I’m getting over being irritated because something is not turning out as expected. I heard on the internet (Okay, yeah, something on the internet turns out not to be true? Legit, you can’t let yourself be irritated at that…or even the least bit surprised, but…) I was watching a bit of a video on how to extend base building borders, and the guy was very smooth about it so there was an “okay, guy knows what he’s doing” vibe.

Anyway, he spit out these numbers, like “within 1000 units of your base there will be X number of hot spots, at least one will be a power hotspot, this many will be gas clouds with at least one being oxygen and at least one being (appropriate gas for biome), etc etc.” The use of specific numbers made it sound like some sort of science had been at work…or maybe datamining the distribution algorithms…in any event it didn’t sound like made up nonsense.

So I promptly swore off solar power, or leaving a spot I take a liking to…there is a power hot spot and I will find it. I may be jumping the gun, but I have circled my base 300 units out, scanning at the cardinal points. Then circled at 500 units, scanning approximately at the clock points. I have a high degree of certainty that if there were a hotspot within about 700 units of my base I’d have found it. 700 is not a thousand, and I am diligent enough that I will make one more big circle…but I’m thinking the guy was blowing smoke.

EDIT: need to find a planet with some flying creature approximating a crow. Not only did my 900 unit circle locate a power spot at 950 units from my base, it located three more at 1100, 1250 and about 1300…I didn’t bother homing in on that last one. Apologies to the guy that made that video, whoever he was.
