Having deleted my Next base which turned ugly with the Origins update and now wishing I had held out a little longer for the Worlds update… I am starting a new main base on the same planet where my settlement is only not actually in the settlement since the whole thing rotated with Worlds…
Anyway, it starts with a gas station or a carbon station or whatever it is these things run on.
Was building a roof and decided to try out the new peices. Definitely going to keep the long stone ones, might try the metal ones as the entire cap, wood is going back to normal roof for sure
Was inspired by the roof display so after falling asleep way too early, I woke up in the middle of the night, grabbed my Steam Deck and built a greenhouse. Off to a good start.
Oh wow, great idea. Horticultural sites just got an upgrade ;0;
The barrow of clay pots is wonderful
My folks would grow stuff every year in their little green house but since my mam passed my dad hasn’t had the heart to get back to it. So now it’s the cats sauna house in the interim
All on PS5. Boot up in nexus, get mission, build home using missions guidelines as a ruleset, crash on return in orbit or on return to nexus '^_ ^
Gonna turn mp off on return journey next time.
That or start a real estate business on this planet because I’m starting to acrue a lot of Empty Homes.
Edit:
Success. Also learned a valuable trick should anyone else experience this.
Instead of just starting fresh, I returned to one of the bases I built before the previous crash just to reclaim materials.
Entering the base counted as doing all of the introductory steps of placing a computer and checking availability, as well as placing any parts that were already placed.
Since what it asks you to build changes every time, there were a few new things I had to place to progress steps but it was much quicker than building something entirely from scratch.
I disabled multiplayer before returning to nexus.
I don’t know if it was getting back to nexus quicker this time or if it was disabling multiplayer but I’m across the finish line.
When Edison ECSD was first founded I started a build there, I’d say I got about thirty mins in then totally forgot about it.
It’s been six years so I figured maybe it’s time to finish what I started, especially since the weather has improved. I’m still blaming it on budget cuts to education and not my own personal disregard.
Work has begun again in earnest on “The Edison School for Books & do Word Good”.
On the right is the old and abandoned build, you can see I didn’t make it very far. Decided to start on the left wing for the revival, what a difference build cam makes , got it up as quick as I abandoned the other side. Thinking I might leave the original attempt as is, for historical record.
I accidentally deleted the name and forgot what I called it, searching old posts I see I wasn’t too far off I wonder if the tri force of knowledge is still around?
And yes, Edison ECSD is currently experiencing the Corn Tree issue on PS5. They say it’s corn but we all know what nip nip buds look like
Edit:
Triforce of knowledge is gone. There is only Spider Fiend now.
Otherwise you can use the method of enlarging your poster and layering them into the wall until they finally rest on top and are visible, then very, very carefully delete the larger posters underneath.
Working on the boardwalk area of my new base. Not really sure what this is. A natural history museum? A museum of discovery? A great place to bring the kids.
Who needs an in-house galactic trade terminal when you’ve got an exocraft catapult and live near a trading post? Also, multitool golf is an absolute blast with the neutron cannon
This showed up in my nearby bases earlier and I just assumed it was someone on the nexus, nearly visited and all. Never guessed it was a new build in Etarc Space guess I know where my next stop is.
The thumbnail really stood out, my initial thought was I’d be so anxious of nuking the tree mid build
I’ve had such a great experience with people on this forum and wanted easy access to the homeworld after visiting and having a look around, so I figured why not contribute a bit of whimsy to the community in-game?
And you’re spot-on about that dang tree! So many close calls! lol
I tried to see if I could find and visit your base but discovery services have gone all Bermuda triangle for the starter system. Can see players but zero player bases.
They do show up in the teleporter on the space station as nearby bases, but none of em have usernames or display thumbnails and fail to download/warp to (All other systems behaving normally)
I’m fairly convinced the one named “floating island observatory” might be yours @sheralmyst guessing from the name alone. There were a few others on the shortlist but that’s the one I can remember.
Building a little house ATM with some frost crystal for anyone who needs windows, will share proper once done but for now heres a selfie after tiling the roof
The base above is Traveller’s Rest but I have not uploaded it yet. Euclid
In the Expedition, I have Waterfall Terrace on the starting planet. Will post pics. Stu had no problem seeing it while I was building it.
