It could just be a console thing, or might just be a me and a legacy save thing.
Will be booting up my pc play through of the expedition later today, will keep an eye out for Waterfall Terrace once I’m through the other side

Mine was supposed to be just a small shack afloat a raft but I got carried away. The entrance still gives an idea of what the original plan was, small and inner cornery. You could say the shack got upgraded to a foyer
Can’t remember which rendezvous/Drop Zone it is but it’s that one ^^^^
My biggest wish for nms and base building now is that the wind effects base items. The dance of drapes and flags seems ever more sussy now. Stop defying gravity, you!
As long as the flapping drapes don’t knock my mug of hot chocolate into my lap
So the little shack turned Foyer now has a new name as “This lil house” no longer seemed fitting.
Its now called “Yes we have WIFI”.
Whilst visiting on my PC playthrough I noticed there was a power hotspot about 450u away so now have two locations there, (ps5 and pc)
Offshore energy harvesting conglomerate, The Rinsha Electrical Company, has set up shop nearby
L VE this house!
The whole time I was building the Rinsha Electrical Station I had the Mako Reactor music from FF7 playing on a loop in my head.
I haven’t actually used Byte Beat since it first arrived, so I figured if ever there were a place to have a chirpy tune on repeat, it’s here.
I only just got started, I’m still trying to figure out what I can get away with with the limitations
The actual instruments I’m using make it sound like its for the original Metal Gear
I want to try my hand as some arrangement on the byte beats but haven’t gotten up the courage yet. I also wish we could generate a different sound from them more like my old Yamaha keyboard from way back when. Organ music inside a castle. Piano duet in the mountains. Heavy metal on a rusted out toxic planet.
It can be annoyin with the limitations but it can be fun to try and figure out work arounds like how the hunk do you do triplets? Theres a few ways I can think of but they’re all convoluted and require much fidgeting with wave forms and additional bytebeat machines.
Now that PC and PS5 are on same version again I was able to transfer my Mako Reactor music attempt over to the PC playthrough where I actually built the damn thing.
I’ve come to accept the fact I could not do Mako Reactor justic and have settled on this weird soundalike meets metal gear MSX music
It’s the bit at 50 seconds onwards I was trying to conjure up mostly from memory
or 58ish seconds in the remake version
and by Metal Gear I mean this
Nice! Good job! I had to listen to the original because I could not remember it.
I decided to return to my main save on console to build a place to experiment with Bytebeats.
I wanted to try and make “Its hard to stand on two feet”, the intro sounded like it might work nice as a simplified loop.
This is how I discovered Edison ECSD was returned to its infested state via the recent rollback on the sim wide change (due to it nuking settlements I believe).
The school I was building will have to be closed for the time being since the ruin it was being rebuilt around has changed to a completely different ruin
I figured I may as well now make this my temporary music workshop, the bleeps and bloops should keep the Worms away I hope.
Anyway, I feel like this one actually came out sounded right and I got a good bit of progression in this one too (I didnt know if I’d get that basoon melody in at all)
I am torn. Right now, I have decided to dismantle the new Traveller’s Rest and go in a different direction. Maybe when I am done, I will just copy your music over to my base
Going in a new direction.
Looks very cosy, kinda reminds me of the kind of apartment Lara Croft would have when visiting the middle east for supernatural mcguffin.
Also doesn’t feel like the outside world is full of giant worms and infestations, fen shui achieved.
Floating platforms always remind me of these old spider woman cartoons I had on VHS as a toddler. Where the world gets attacked by flying pyramids. Whenever I see a large floating square platform it brings em right back.
Long story short you need some floating pyramids I think.
I didn’t remember em being purple though, my memory repainted em as sandstone.
Purple pyramids with gold tops? Must be Atlas65
Was deep into some base building last night and I noticed the game thought about crashing a few times. Maybe cause everything is set to Ultra, lol. Keeping an eye on it today.
Visited Nerozi’s base and sat down and had a nice chat with some fellow traveller’s who were also visiting. We chatted about the building system. Poor guy says best he can build is a box. I told him about Beeblebum’s YT glitch building. He said he would look into it.
I passed through here the other day, was checking out how some of the community spotlights survived the universe refresh and how the new water spruces em up if applicable.
Awesome to see travellers stop by and have chats organically <3
They haven’t refreshed the spotlights in a while and I’m kinda happy they haven’t as I have returned to these quite a bit.
A catalogue tab in the Interstellar Portal list for previous community spotlights would be nice if these have to get replaced some day.
base building continues
a stolen idea
