Building my first space base between two suns. As close as I can get to the green one without taking critical heat damage.

It seems we are limited to one space base upload per system.

However there currently is no upload option for them that I can see…

Working on my first space station too

I wonder if it is automatically shared with the server, not even requiring upload?

Loving the colour!

SheralMyst, In your Atlas-64-csd Alliance space station, I saw a small expanding cube on the ground on the second (third?) floor on the side. Is that a decoration you placed or part of the space station standard?

I am not even half through getting my reputation up to claim the space station I picked. :innocent: I chose the system 8(?) years ago simply because it had a good variety of (gas) farmable planets, and I found a spot with a nice view for a stormfree paradise base.

Since then, the planets --colours, names, weather-- have changed at least three times. The landscape shape around the base stayed the same, interestingly (which is not always the case, I found some old bases floating in mid-air). This year’s colours are better (no more rusty water) and the weather is survivable.

My point is, when I chose that system, I only chose Korvax, there was no economy/conflict, no space station type, no AAA battle pets, no local exotic type, no main star colour, nor main guild. So if you want to find the “perfect” base system today, there’s a lot of new factors to consider beyond just farming. I hope you are all happy with your old systems’ developments?

For that particular station, I now do Merchants missions. They rather seem to be (in RPG terms) rogues / thieves guild / fences. :face_with_tongue:

I just notice that I lost about 75% of the cosmetic/decoration in my old bases… If it happened in huges bases with thousands of glitches to build them it’d be painfull for theses players.

Is it just floating in mid air? That is where I saw it but then I got an exp patch and apparently the furniture was not showing…now it is

I have not even checked my bases but if they forgot the space station decor, I would just wait…rule number 1 when there is a big update. Space station decor just returned

It came back in bases too. But yes when I see problems after an update I don’t try to fix it before patches.

Currently behind the curve on Cosmos base building. I just escaped from the framework of the of the Corvette I was building (fell through the floor on reload)after 2 days, hopefully have a space station tonight. But did this just before that

The cube was stuck half under a railing/lamp post and making … scifi breathing noises? So I looked around what the heck that was.

Now, the funny thing is, they are spreading. It’s not in your station only, it’s now also in my local station. And it has duplicated itself a bit…? :-o

It’s HG who must be putting them there as part of the default furniture. Check stations you visit, maybe they are everywhere.

Funny cause I hear one on my PS5 freighter but I have not placed one. I have looked everywhere but cannot find it but the sound is definitely coming from one area…

Sounds like the wandering cube is back to visit us with a vengeance. That bug was the reason they added it as a base part. I think the community had a name for the original wandering cube space station glitch but I cant recall.

So now we have a wandering expanding cube? I’ll keep an eye out for any such poltergeists on my travels.

I managed to put one of the wandering cubes onto the bridge of my freighter - I think it was left over from when you could build on there (I think you could build on there). It’s quite nice that the cube bug item is bugged onto the place I shouldn’t put it.

The Expanding Cube should now be called Tribbles (Early Star Trek Reference)

Wayward cube was its name!

So we already knew how your alliance choice is global to the account. It is kind of funny how this goes for claimed Space Stations too. It allows you to build the Space Station on any save for that account. However, it does not sync your changes, as it otherwise behaves as it used to, by never downloading ‘your’ bases (any type) on that account. Uploading makes no difference for your account, only makes it available to others (different accounts).

Your own claimed Space Stations all show up in your list of bases. I have yet to check how part limits have changed local/global and how these Space Stations count towards those limits.

When you visit a system, it will only ‘download’ the Space Station data if it was in fact uploaded by the owner.

I have also noticed, how loading a save that is already located in the system, will now be correctly updated, instead of bringing ‘local data’ with you. I placed something in a Space Station and uploaded on one account, then switched to another account already located there to right away see the change. I have not checked if this is the case with Planet bases too, but I truly hope so, as the base weirdness and forcing to change systems has always been pretty annoying.
