Base Building & Settlements in Frontiers

Stop! You’re killing me! How do you do such cool stuff? :sunglasses:
I am working on a thing…not quite sure what but it started as an aquarium

Ah, I wish I’d d thought of that

Remember I had one last orbital base to update in the system you visited?

Had to scale back my aspirations a bit, hit the 3k upload limit earlier than expected.

I am having an issue that is irritating me…I am using the wire sizing glitch which works great…unless I accidentally place the wire instead of the item. Then I am finding that I cannot grab the wire to delete it. Here is an example.

I can grab the wire when it is on regular flooring but inside the round rooms, I cannot. It is just stuck there… :weary: and I do not want to delete the whole room.
Anyway, this project may be on hold for right now.

There is another wire stuck on the ceiling of the mushroom section. :sob:
Yeah. I should have placed a save beacon and saved after each correct placement.

What about glitching the item outside the room then either R1 duplicate or R2 replace (ps controller) and transfer it into your room. I’d just not bother about the wire inside and hide it with the wiring hider module thingy at the end.

I see you’re glitching glitches. You can’t duplicate those in the build menu but you can R2 and replace them after you’ve sized them

Yes. I was thinking of that later…after it was too late…Does duplicate work with the collectables (bubbles, cable pods etc…)?

Nah, you cant duplicate you get a message saying theres nothing to duplicate… but replace works and it still holds its size fine, so you can still glitch it away from the area you’re building in and move it.

Thanks for that! I feel brain-drained this week. My build started as a radio telescope project and morphed into an aquarium, terrarium…something. lol I really need a plan.

I’m just imagining hearing that sentence at a budget hearing at NASA…

Well, it keeps getting stranger…at least my radio telescopes seem to be attracting attention.

My latest base, or really two bases to allow for more parts. Loosely based on Saturday morning ‘SiFi’ from the early '60s.

The two in the background make me expect to see the Jetsons go whizzing by. :+1:

If I could build a convincing version of the car.

The buildings in the back were inspired by the Jetson architecture. George’s apartment and Spacely’s Space Sprocket factory. Resized to fit part limits etc. The building in front is an older build where I was experimenting with creating a building on the scale of the archives. It is 24 stories tall not counting the pedestal. Both bases are as close together as allowed without overlapping so I could experiment with creating larger cities. On another base I was able to create 16 ‘residential’ buildings before hitting the upload limit. Draw distance limits are the next problem, I may have to overlap bases to get everything close enough to the camera. I predict chaos trying to build multiple bases in the same space.

You are ambitious. Good luck!

Oh wow! Nice spot for that. Looks like it is rising out of the floor. :+1:

Night lights.

Floor panels and light panels can be merged. Floor panels must be put down first. There seems to be some adjacency problems. The examples use full size floor panels.
