Announcement: Archiving caused unread messages

There has been a minor issue as a result of ‘actually’ archiving every single topic that is present in the Archive. After this was done, it was brought to my attention that every system message stating I had successfully archived each topic, has resulted in (an) unread message(s).

This means you, our beloved users, now have a lot of discussion to catch up on, sadly enough not all that interesting as you may have hoped. It does however also mean we have not gone viral either, which I, personally am not too unhappy about. I love our niche little ‘official’ corner of the universe, and honestly kind of prefer this to stay this way.

I am very sorry for causing this inconvenience (straight up spam, I’ll admit). I will investigate and see if we can prevent this from happening again in the future.

Bear with us (me :face_with_peeking_eye:) :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
Thank you

Here is how to ‘Dismiss’ all ‘Unread’ topics (Shows for PC, but Mobile is very similar)

  • Click/tap the ‘hamburger’ menu icon at the top right next to your profile icon and click/tap ‘Topics’.
  • Now click/tap ‘Unread’ to only show topics that are unread and then click/tap ‘Select All’ for all of them to be selected.
  • Pay attention to the amount of selected messages, as you may need to scroll down to load additional unread topics, before being able to select those too. Once scrolled all the way down, with no more topics being loaded, make sure to ‘Select All’.
The example below does not reflect this, as I only have one at the moment.
  • Click/tap ‘Bulk Actions’ and click/tap ‘Dismiss’ or click/tap ‘Dismiss’ at the top right side instead.
  • Now complete by clicking/tapping the ‘Dismiss’ button. I do not recommend to stop tracking all the selected topics.
