Voyagers Update 6.0

Oh cool, I was hoping that ship hangar room would maybe have something at least.

I note that in the anomaly, there’s a whole bunch of “salvaged” (apparently autophage) building parts appeared. Are these new?

We got those with the settlement update.

Has anyone found a limit to the number of corvettes you can build?

At first I thought they counted as a normal ship but I must have been experiencing a glitch.

I have 3 so far.

I think they count as a normal ship but I haven’t tried putting any in cold storage.

The only way to get rid of them is trading them for a normal ship so I reckon you can have as many as there are free ship slots still available to you.

Edit:

Just checked my game there as I was on my freighter, corvettes cannot be put into cold storage.

I think you can have twelve starships on the go so if you put them all into cold storage maybe you can have twelve corvettes max?

Edit:

I have seven of my twelve starship slots filled, three of those are Corvette’s.

The space station is allowing me to begin construction on a 4th :+1:

Does anyone else have these?

Do they show up as something else when building or do they not show up at all? Why are they gray? Should I toss them, sell them?

I have several. They appear to be jointing pieces (i.e. they join one structure to another).

I haven’t tried to use them yet. I wouldn’t advise ditching them until we know what they’re for.

Rearranging storage again…I am running out of room.

I have even resorted to filling my exocraft…the big one.

Edit: the anomaly has been deserted for me since the last experimental patch

Thinking about it, I suspect they greyed out pieces are intended to join two parts that wouldn’t normally fit together, because the geometry is wrong. As such, the joining parts wouldn’t have any specific shape - they would expand and contract to fill the available gap - so they couldn’t be used on their own - only to join two other pieces.

Well, I currently have 3 Corvettes. 2 I would love to scrap and rework but, I can’t do anything with them. When I remove parts, I can’t put any new ones one. One Corvette has parts that I cannot even grab to remove.

I have 10 ships total but I cannot start a new Corvette. It will not let me place the landing gear

It says I have 10 landing gear. I think the game counts the ones already installed but that should still leave me one. The only way to get a landing gear that works is to buy a new one.

I keep getting stuck in a circle of the game not recognizing how many pieces I actually have and not allowing me to edit ships I have in progress…

The current patch is said to have fixed these issues, but its not out on console for me yet.

I know you play on a few different platforms, are you having these experiences on Experimental? I’m praying the answer is no and worried if the answer is yes because I was hoping this incoming patch would undo all such woes :see_no_evil_monkey:

It’s possible all your landing gear have become those unuseable refunded ones?

As for the three black joining pieces and the cargo piece with the grey backgrounds, they show up in the store list too for trading, but they do not show up in the build menu list (which shows all possible pieces). It might be they are old parts from a previous iteration of corvette design, or they are placeholder for later parts. Either I think its pretty clear these shouldn’t be populating lists on the players end, possible unintended oversight.

Phantom part entries have been a common trend in No Mans Sky for a long time. The log would show parts that no longer exist or never even existed. I recall a second entry for another type of automatic door but showed the image of the regular one and never came to be anything. There were other variants on this over the years, even phantom entries in the buried tech exhange for new parts at one point.

Another bug I’ve noticed, is with Creature Death Rag Doll issues.

I’m not normally one to go around culling creatures but if I see a predator go for its prey in front of me I will intervene.

What I’ve noticed is the creature disappears immediately on death, at first I thought it was just the model being culled from rendering but sometimes you can catch a glimpse of the creature model being flung at impossible speeds upwards from the soil.

I think this might have something to do with the new geometry planes introduced with the corvettes possibly? It’s like they’re suddenly leaving the current “gravitational” loadout?

Just imagine the insanity if they bring this tech to land vehicles And let you essentially build a mobile base on land.

There are already whole planets I can’t land my corvette on. Yes, you could design and build a base-sized vehicle - but where could you drive it?

wherever you can.

I am sorry to say this is an experimental save

The colliding with the anomaly, space station and planets is not fixed yet either though it does seem to be better.

Its at 97,517 now… 200 short of the 97,723 record set in 2018…

I think I might just boot the game up on PC for a while

Monday’s aren’t usually this busy… Is it a Bank Holiday Monday somewhere?

Now who wants to walk the tight rope between 2025 peak and 2018 peak?

(We have surpassed the 2018 peak by the time I took this pic and typed this message)

It’s Labor Day in the USA. I would help, but I don’t do Steam.
