Ooh an expedition AND an expansion on Corvette game elements ![]()
In the far reaches of deep space, wrecked corvettes can now be encountered and salvaged. Step out into zero-gravity to explore these hollow hulks, and equip your Multi-Tool laser to dismantle their valuable modules - then repurpose this scrap to build your dream ship at a Corvette Workshop.
A significant number of new corvette modules are now salvageable from deep-space corvette wrecks and planetary scrapheaps. These include new landing gear, shields, weapons, connectors, and a number of highly-requested wedge-shaped modules that enable a huge variety of creative and complicated corvette builds.
So new stuff all round and exclusive Aeron modules in the expedition. This is a seriously juicy update and more than I was expecting <3
Now how many of those new pieces are doors? Also, 2x2 contextual/toggable(toggleoggleable?) soon please <3 That would still be nice. But this is nice too. Thanks HG <3 <3 <3
A friend wants to try NMS again. How buggy is the multiplayer this time? Should we better start in safe, non-expedition lands? I could even start a new save so I’m not totally overpowered heheh. ![]()
An expedition save could be fun as you’ll both have shared goals to work towards.
You will need to start an expedition save either through a new or exisiting character, before you will have an appropriate save to join their expedition instance and vice versa via the join game menu.
Once you both have an in-progress instance of the Expedition you can then join eachother

Thank you all again for the heads up, and like usual, I am stuck at work living vicariously through the lucky ones here that can enjoy it immediately.
Good tip for the second milestone/leaving first system.
First milestone is repair ship and second milestone is leave system. You can save yourself some time by visiting the space station, it’s an abandoned one. I found contraband in a chest on board and it gave me enough money to buy chromatic metal and microchips needed to build the warp drive.
Saved me a pile of mining, refininf and crafting.
Also the first milestone (get to your ship) gives the personal refiner as a reward, so no need to build a portable refiner when making ferrite for the engine repairs.
Looks like we also have the Abandoned Void variant of the Anomaly/Nexus (spooky sounds and no visible players without a autophage scanner). I am seeing the occasional Atlas Staff floating arounf though, mussed have missed the cull toggle
Everything is abandoned. Including the Anomaly.
I am amazed how many run right past the containers on planets . They are good finds for a new game.
HG is having a bit of laugh. We need to build a Corvette but the abandoned stations have no teleporter. This means you have to huff it all the way to the trade terminal and ship salvager at the back of the station.
In my day we had to walk barefoot TEN MILES in freezing Glass and damp Atlas gunk to get to our ship salvager.
Just encountered a major issue
when you step into space to search the crashed ships for scrap, if you get close, it throws you way out into space.
I am not sure I can even get close enough to mine the parts that I am finding…will keep trying.
Edit: I give up. Very hard to make the points show up when scanning then once they do, I can’t stay close enough to mine them…at least I assume I should be mining them.
Damn it HG, how am I supposed to ever play another game if you release updates every month? It’s too much! Think I’m just going to skip this one again, even though it kinda sounds like fun. But I really want to finish Grimrock this time around, so I’ll keep playing that!

I also had this happen to me when approaching the first ship that appears when you use the locator (the arcadia).
I managed to salvage the first two bits then got flung away as you described when going for the flight log.
I summoned my corvette and flew back but kept distance in case it was the cause, space walked over and got the log but while reading it I got flung away again. Seems to be common enough which means it might get sorted by the first patch.
Is the debris scanner one use only?
I can’t find it now…don’t tell me have to make another…

Ughhh…..the grind. One of the most grindy expeditions yet
Also, I scrapped my starter ship and now regret it. Every time I land at a space station, I have to walk forever to the terminal…
and here is another fun fact…you cannot call for help
Sentinels started attacking me while I was scrapping the ship. Also, the milestone never completed for me. Will have to build yet another scanner
I hate to be a downer…but…I tried fishing to get my mind off of the whole space issue.
The waves were massive and threw me into space.
Thankfully I could call in the Nautilon and get back to my ship, which I could not summon over water.
I left that system. Tried another. Then found I have no way to make another Nautilon and I cannot summon in the one I left behind….

I have run up against too many obstacles in this expedition. Will give it a few days and see if there are some updates
Won’t get into spoilers here on day 1, but lore-wise this one did feel pretty seasonally-appropriate.
