Voyagers Update 6.0

I am having weird issues like this too. It is there but not usable but also I think how many parts you have is a total including the ones used on other Corvettes.

It is a confusing mess.

But it could also be your inventory is full.

Not sure where it goes if that is true.

Twice now I have hit the wrong button and gone into photo mode while in build mode and had to force quit the game…

My inventory isnt full either. I have about 25 free slots open still.

Oh, another issue. I fully decorated my corvette interior, but returning to the station and replacing 1 part, my entire interior disappeared :upside_down_face: wasn’t refunded for the materials either.

Update: I tried moving my inventory to my ship and then to my freighter and then back to my own inventory thinking that it might reset the “amount” I have of the items in my inventory but it didnt do anything

I also tried restarting the game and that also dorsnt seem to fix it. The game seems to be dead-set that I no longer have these items after removing them.

I am fairly certain this issue has been zendesked but it won’t hurt to do it again.

Some of my issues I can’t pinpoint enough to report . I am sure they will get it sorted. They have to. The boats in LNF depend upon it.

One thing I can add. Make sure you are not deleting the part.

On Xbox controller, I grab the part with RT then hit B to back out. The piece goes back to my inventory

There is no prompt to explain this procedure. I just tried it to see and it worked

You’re supposed to trade in three for two, not overflow :-p

Trouble is, I don’t know which ones I want until I’ve tried them all. And I can’t try them all until I’ve found them all. And finding the rare ones involves finding LOTS of the common ones.

(Or was it, trade in three for one? Don’t recall)

Yeah, the loot goblins dilemma  I wonder, does each space station have all variants? Are some variants only available at some stations? Are all variants findable as salvage? Do you already have a feeling for what is where?

I think there are 115 parts in all. As far as I can tell, all space stations, and all planets with scrap, have the same parts available.

As a personal preference, I would much rather scavenge the parts than buy/trade for them. As you can see, this leads to inventory problems.

We live with our choices.

I thought the game might hit Worlds part one numbers on steam come Sunday.

It’s only Friday and it has already surpassed the player peek of worlds PT 1 :exploding_head:

100k might be out of the question but I think it could hit 80k on Sunday

All pieces are the same at each space station and all are available. The basic ones you can buy, the rest you trade for.

I noticed a freighter/frigate had a decal on it. I was certain I’d never seen anything like this before, particularly the symbol itself, and put it down to a texture streaming issue which tend to be quite common after a huge update.

Then I noticed more on this crashed Freighter…

Have these always been here and my memory is mush or are they a recent enough addition?

I do not recall ever seeing them

Played around a bit yesterday in creative to try and get the hang of it. I wish there were corvettes out there to discover, because I suck at this whole building thing.

In any case, looks like the only functional interior module currently is the mission radar. Not sure why they even put the other ones in, since we already have beds and health stations and whatnot. Definitely lacking are a trade terminal and an exocraft bay, though. Like, that one seems like such a no-brainer I’m kind of baffled it’s not there. Doesn’t need to be able to drive out the door, just spawn it outside somewhere.

It seems like a great update, just not that much for me. Like settlements, it kinda wastes an opportunity for discovery by requiring you to build it. Though here that’s more understandable, since all those corvette blueprints would be quite a bit of work to have in there. Still, I just can’t be bothered to spend hours in a game to build stuff. Got enough to build outside of games…

Trade terminal and exo summoner definitely needed. Maybe in the expedition?

I know when outside a corvette you can switch build modes with a new prompt up top right of screen.

Has anyone tried switching to regular planet side build mode and placing an exo craft summoner on their ship?

Bases have many glitch building work around, I’m sure we can find some for the corvettes :stuck_out_tongue:

You want to fly a corvette but would like a ready-made prototypical one? What should it look like?

Which aspect of building a corvette did you not like? Admittedly the UX is not perfect, scrolling through the parts list and snapping parts together is a bit cumbersome.

Did you want to achieve a certain look and it didn’t have the right parts? I’m not good at recreating existing ship designs, so I just declare everything “Mortal Engines Scrapyard!” :winking_face_with_tongue:, that’s why I mind the annoying limitations less…

The one where you… uh… have to build? It’s not a criticism. I know that a lot of people love building stuff in games. I… don’t. I rather spend my time building games than building stuff inside games :person_shrugging:

I just wish there were some corvettes flying out in the wilds to buy, like normal starships. I realize that it’s not quite the same thing, though. They can’t really build a gazillion of these things to have the required variety.

Which is exactly why I think the game is set up perfectly to deliver player designed corvettes to every other player or even have them be a pool from which NPC pilots will pull from when spawning in to a space station.

If we could upload our corvettes the same way we upload our bases, the data would exist on the same network. The game could pull from this randomly, similar to Spore, populating your game with players creations.

The only alternative is to have ready made presets to pull from in the game, but that seems too small a pool for an infinite universe.

Its my biggest wish for the game now, and suddenly the universe would be bursting in every system with player made contributions.

I foresee this being abused and people uploading offensive things but that’s already a risk with the Anomaly landing pads so an easy report system would be all they could do with that inevitability

It took me a couple of days to finally find the pieces and finally make my ship look like something. Sorry. I ain’t giving it away to anyone

CAUTION: I saved in my Corvette last night so when I started up the game this morning, I was in my Corvette cockpit area and the game froze. I was stuck falling thru the floor.

2nd time worked but I moved quick to get out of the area

Ok. I tried adding the exo summoner. There is a base building boundary around the Corvette. As soon as I get close to the ship, I get the out of base range message.

The Corvette has its own building perimeter and building list.

This update has already surpassed (on steam records) the peak set by Beyond/VR update in 2019 and may very well be on track to break the current non-launch day record set by Next way back in 2018. (Current player peak for Voyagers is 78,414. Next 1.50’s peak was 97,723)

I’m not sure of many games nearing a decade old that can bring back those kinds of numbers but I’m happy to see Hello Games pull it off, no part in thanks to this amazing community that won’t shut up talking about this game <3

I love building things myself both in-game and in real life, but I hate when the building in-game is very limited. Currently the ship building is very limited so many designs look sort of blocky, and its understandable from a technical perspective.

Regardless, what would help is if there were some pre-built ships in the wild that can serve as a base design and then players can add/remove parts from there. Would be very helpful for getting ideas or to just make something nice for those that arent really the creative types. They dont even need to have that many variations, maybe just 2 for each race, one small and one large. Thats enough to get people started.

I like the option to scavenge for parts and trading too, but I really wish we also had the option to just buy the parts outright, even if it was very expensive or even if it required a special type of currency so we can sell all the ship parts I know I dont want. Having a full inventory of ship parts that I dont want just to trade for items that “maybe” I DO want…. feels a little too much like hoarding…. but in a video game😅
