All the room we have and I have filled my pockets with stuff….I need more storage!
My first Corvette.
The portal window colour displays wrong in the preview but looks fine once assembled
Uploading: 1000042599.jpg…
Processing: 1000042598.jpg…
(Images failing to upload, will try again later, the processing upload isn’t disappearing after a time like it normally would so can’t re-attempt rn)
Did what I could with the starter bits, front is a little boxier than I’d like but I wanted that portal window at the front somehow.
I love that the white chairs have a new texture on them in the ship.
I thought maybe a texture glitch but then I saw them in your photo too @sheralmyst so they’re real.
Be careful though…
I sat on one after placing it while parked in a space station.
I began to sink and phase through the chair, then the corvette, then the space station, then I got stuck in gravity walk mode instead of continuing to fall through the space station.
The Corvette is really cute when it is small and cozy. When you start trying to make it big and roomy, it is much harder to make it look nice. It will require a lot of pieces.
I planted some gravatino orbs in the planters in my ship and fell thru the floor. I didn’t know they were so corrosive.
There’s also a strange issue with boarding a regular starship if it isn’t on a landing pad (I think, it might even happen anywhere but for now assuming just on the ground.)
When I warp to a settlement without a landing pad, my starship is placed as it would be nearby on the soil.
Approaching the starship I can see it has its landing gear out and positioned to the dirt.
However no enter starship button appears.
When I start jetpacking , the icon to board starship appears but disappears as soon as I touch any surface.
When I manage to hold the button and stay airborn long enough to enter the starship, it is immediately airborn and controllable (the landing gear just vanishes, no retraction animation), as if I had performed a mid air starship recovery, rather than trying to attempt entering/taking off in a starship that’s already landed.
The bugs from the new orbital walks etc are everywhere and I don’t mind, as long as I don’t get stuck and save-broken
Have you tried to save/reload? Often fixes issues. If the issue persists, might want to post to the ‘Bugs & Issues’ or at least report to HG. Seems odd to me how the player would get the ‘OnTerrain’ requirement just to enter a ship, similar to how creature interaction has that requirement. Or perhaps the game now considers your starship a flying critter?
(comes back home from work and sits down)
Aaaaaahhhhh!
Sexy spaceships! Sexy spacesuites! Take my credits, I’ll buy 823476 of each!!
I am now having an issue with building inside the Corvette. It stopped working…I can build deco stuff but not the Corvette pieces…
Uh-oh, quick, make a backup of %APPDATA%\HelloGames\NMS … Or are you on Steamdeck?
On Steam. Getting a patch now
On experimental?
Any chance they have included independent gunner seats with the corvettes? (I am thinking the tie-fighter fight in A New Hope.)
(STill stuck at work….as usual for an update day…..)
On experimental yes.
Gunner seats, no.
There are a LOT of bugs with the Corvette building . I am currently unable to to attach the stations to the walls.
Also everyone needs to realize this counts as one of your ships so make sure you have room for it.
I got up and walked around as I headed for a planet. Had no problems earlier. But this time, I could not get back into the pilot’s seat. Thankfully the ship stops as it reaches the edges of the atmosphere.
I decided this was a good time to test the new space walking feature. There was no other way down to the surface.
Well, I am not suffocating…
Once I hit atmo, I could jetpack.
Then gravity kicked in.
Thankfully, the game sets you upright just before, and I do mean just before you make contact.
Feeling Nostalgic
Comparing all anniversary update ‘book covers’:
It always felt as though we were getting closer to the Atlas…
And the planet rising was the spirit (or life force) of the Crimson Orb rising…
Characters back-turned
Characters forward-facing
The spirit, the life, the soul. Until they met, and became one…
And we too became one, as we made it to the Atlas…
How much closer can we get to the Atlas? Are we to be consumed by its
Crimson Orb?
So, I stand before the ‘all seeing eye,’ with a horde of its ‘watchful minions’ standing before me. Do we stand as if before a god? (Hmm, IDK) Depends on who fires the first shot. Yikes! Nonetheless…
One thing is for sure: The Titan sleeps no more (Waking Titan ARG), the Atlas stands strong (Atlas Rises update, and all other updates, over 9 years strong), standing on the threshold of years.
What’s this scary… blue… micro black hole doing? Never noticed it before. Is it part of the freighter or the frigate?
There’s also a teleporter, does it belong to that?
PS: They are spreading…
That is where your Corvette will “park”
It does not land inside the freighter for a very good reason. It can be huge.
Go see the new landing pads on the space station and Anomaly
Taking a break. Don’t forget the new suit at the appearance modifier.
Have fun!
Is everyone’s first quest the same, “buy Thunderbird cockpit” etc.? So everyone’s first few corvettes will look somewhat similar? I found some Gantry Link but can’t tell yet how to use it.
Pretty much, but you get 3-4 parts from the salvageable scrap so you can build up new parts for use or for trading pretty quick (the ones you buy at a station can’t be traded for newer parts it seems, only the ones you find).
I believe you can come across them via other methods so if digging gets tiresome you can also find them on derelict freighters, loot from fighting pirates and as mission rewards, might be a few more methods too.
Patch notes mentioning locations to discover Corvette Modules
- Corvette modules can be unearthed from salvage containers buried on worlds across the universe, as well as discovered in Derelict Freighters.
- Modules can also sometimes be retrieved from defeated pirates, freighter cargo pods, crashed freighter crates, frigate expeditions, or received as rewards for completing missions.
Oh wow, nice observation, I never noticed that before and it seems like it is genuine intent on their end.
Just checked SteamDB
It’s the middle of the week and already more people are playing this update than the last two during peak periods on the weekends.
Will it approach worlds part one/two levels of engagement?
Either way it’s been received well it seems
I really like retro-futuristic looking spaceships, so I’m hoping I’ll be able to make something that looks similar to these.
Hmmm. The video shows a seemingly abandoned (partially destroyed) space station using the newer Omega style but without the red or orange entry tractor beam. Is that new or have I just not seen them before? Or is my imagination just going wild?
Could just be how it looks. Abandoned have a red light shining from the entry.
I have been able to fly thru several space stations since this update which may be an addition due to the possible size of the Corvette. I am wondering just how big we can make these things.
