FYI Everyone!
On PC, there appears to be a hole in the world, under the portal. You can fall in (I did). Watch out.
This is the fourth time I’ve visited this event this evening. As you can see from the panoramic pictures, there’s nobody there.
Even the organisers (presumably the people who built those bases you can see) aren’t there.
Maybe it’s me. Or maybe it’s the PC community. Perhaps over on PS4, there’s a wild party going on. But where I am makes graveyards look lively and inviting.
Yeah, I think most are on PS4.
Oh, there were bases in the PC version. Just no visitors. Or owners. Or anybody.
I note that in the Telepath pictures you’ve posted from PS4, there are no visitors evident there, either.
In the past, at these events, you’d exit the portal through a forest of comm balls. Even if you didn’t meet other travellers, there was plenty of evidence of their passing.
At this event, there were no comm balls at the portal. I saw markers for two or three off in the distance, but so few that they only served to emphasise just how empty the whole thing was.
I can’t see any comm ball markers in the PS4 pictures, either.
Some bases I saw on PC:
I wonder if its to do with their new server setup for multiplayer, looks like a cdn type setup based on geo-location/timezone based on my experiences on the weekend events. Ie the various servers not fully syncing or hosting players on different servers and not able to meet?
Hi there. I don’t know when the advertisement was posted but if it was only 6 days ago, maybe it wasn’t able to reach many readers before the Christmas festivities ‘wrapped us all up’, so to speak. Sadly I only just read this but then, I haven’t read a lot of posts for several weeks now.
I would have come along for a peek as it all looks great fun and a lot of effort seems to have gone into the organising. I will though as soon as I get the chance as it looks like an interesting collection of bases and messages for everyone to visit. And we can still just about leave a Happy New Year greeting, if it isn’t too late
