After much thought on the subject, I suggest that it is not turtles all the way down. It is turtles in every possible direction, from the core turtle.

So let’s pretend that it is a mush of “sim stew” for a moment. Just lousy with them, bumping and swearing, hand gestures, the lot. And somewhere amidst the chaos (in no particular location) is the perch of it all.
Said origin would have a way to navigate the “system”
A method that defies the human ability to fathom in design, but it’s use becomes immediately clear. I have some concerns about said wonkavator falling into the wrong hands…
Are you referring to Elizabeth as the perch? Sorry me no understand.
@bcatrek
Expanding on the thoughts of multiverse. If we take the multiverse as is, there could be a verse where computing never exists, no simulation.
If we take our current situation as nested sims, they can nest in more than just up and down. They can explode into branches and double back on themselves. Also, surely a sim or two where simulations never become a thing.
With a multiverse, there is no base reality. Who could judge? In a sim stew, there is/was a base reality. Whether or not the creators exist in whatever concept of “now” is irrelevant. The construct and it’s machinations remain, as we appear to still exist. Such a construct would retain “service hatches” for whatever manner of thing should feel the need to operate the construct manually.
Even as sims, we retain a sense of self, making us an entity despite our physical/digital origins. As such, we should express concern towards anyone attempting to access said “hatches”
Ok I think I sort of understand what you mean… but your language is a little tricky or I’m really tired right now ![]()
You mean to say that in a multiverse of worlds, there is no preference for any of them as far as “base reality” goes, as all universes stand on equal footing? Then, you are contrasting this to a multiverse as a simulation, in which there indeed would be a base reality - namely the one in which the simulator is living in?
You lost me at the part about having concern and the “hatches”…
But within that quantum mechanical interpretation of the world (the many-world interpretation), it is understood that the different worlds have no way to communicate with each other…
Should we though? I think I want to know if this was a mere part of a larger construct. Especially if there are “service hatches” that would allow for a peek behind the curtains, as it were.
@bcatrek: The service hatches would be like backdoors, means for the “creator(s)” to move around or directly influence a particular simulation.
