TravelEcho NMS Inspired Paintings

So these are all ink? That’s a lot of black. Musta emptied the pen a lot. :smile: but looks so nice. Did she paint with ink? I tried that once.

That top one reminded me of Audrey. :grin:

Yes, all ink. You’re not wrong about going through the pens! She didn’t hesitate to order supplies in bulk. Here’s a small sample of the total collection of ink markers around the house right now. I grabbed these out of the storage box we were sharing for our regular evening ritual of doing sketchbook art together, while listening to audiobooks. I’m sure there is a ton more in her studio.

I think she did experiment with ink painting, but I never knew her to do much of that. For the last several years the Faber-Castell India Ink marker pens, like you see here, were her goto for sketching.

@sheralmyst Inquiring minds wish to know - what was your experience when you tried painting with ink?

Was many years ago when the school was furnishing the ink. :smile: Would not do it again. I prefer the ink be in a pen. But it was a bit like watercolor which I never developed a feel for.
I had ink of many colors at my disposal. Can become quite muddled very easily so there is no blending. Must let each layer dry. Meh. Not a fan.

Eww, that certainly does sound tedious and unappealing. Thanks for the insight! I, too, will stick with my ink in pens. Although… I must say I’m rather attracted to this usage of ink: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICxC5ekWnUc

I don’t think I could afford the camera equipment, though. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

So that is awesome. The price of all that ink too. :grimacing: But without the camera equipment there would be no way to appreciate it. Reminds me of painting with light. Better equipment allows for so much more creativity without a physical canvas. Would not mind having some of those frames as a screensaver on my PC. :grinning:

So… I couldn’t quickly find what camera was used for that video, but Chronos cameras by Kron Technologies is mentioned elsewhere in the Macro Room channel. Had a quick look there: https://www.krontech.ca/product/chronos-2-1-hd-starter-bundle/

Just over $8000 USD gets you in the door for 1080p recording (includes a lens). Not as exorbitant as I thought it might be, but still… :exploding_head:

::sigh::

And so is the bird by the looks of it! I love the way the bird emerges organically from the background and the overall feeling of a moment frozen in time.
