@the_architect has reached out to several Operators now to ask us to collect all the information we can on 2016, to figure out System’s obsession with the year.
This thread serves as a place to collaborate and organized such information, and add context as it is recieved.
The Architect hints at an upcoming phase which requires Operator cooperation.
Current Phase:
@the_architect has requested all Operators to submit full memories for dates in 2016 using the Memory Bloc - Addition form (Password - EMILY). These must be formatted as follows:
Title:(ENTER TITLE). Value: (ENTER YOUR VALUE). Main Bloc:(ENTER YOUR MEMORY). Link: (ADD YOUR LINK)
Additionally, Operators can also send submissions to the system@project-skyscraper.com email address, using the above format with the addition of Operator ID and Timestamp fields. These emails must have a subject of Request Memory Timestamp.
If any operators do get direct communications going forwards, and are both happy to do so (and it is not clearly a “keep to yourself” situation - please do pop them below so we can keep everyone informed
Not adding this to the top post since it’s unconfirmed, but the “collecting information” made me think we might be getting a bombardment of memory editing blocs soon. I have all of the current Unverifieds up on the memory tracker already if this is the case, so Operators can start parking in “information” there if needed!
We prob need to consolidate dates that are still empty memory blocks and prioritize those. Then someone good at spreadsheets could order them for public entry so in case system wants to just dump the whole file into its memory bank it could possibly do that.
All of the Unverifieds are added as separate tabs in this sheet for anyone to park their submissions in early.
Since the vast majority of dates are empty for 2016, it probably isn’t reasonable to start drawing those out somewhere yet. I believe Archie’s gonna reach out soon to the designated contact they mentioned in their email with the next steps, and what we’ll have to do will become much clearer.
This ones for the folks hooked up on the LNF Hopium tanks…
If I recall, 2016 was the first year Sean talked about his ideas for their next game. Could be wrong, I’ll have to track the interview down, but he mentioned, when asked what he sees the studio doing after NMS, he’d love to focus their procedural tech on something more focused than an entire universe, like an RPG world.
Can anyone recall when this was? I feel it was really close to NMS’s release. Gonna track it down anyway…
People were talking about 2016 being maybe Systems earliest inception, and that surely sounds like one.
Now, remove the Hopium tanks you silly dweebs, this probably isnt related to LNF so back to work, find those NMS important 2016 dates and whatever else seems cool and space/tech related
Yea wanting to remember the “genesis” of the shared dream (NMS) is a pretty telling sign imo. Looks like we’re going back to the mines to find NMS related dates and information for the Unverifieds?
I’m ashamed to admit over the years I never actually finished the Artemis story line. On and off I always just started a game and sandboxed the crap out of it, leaving most the missions behind, until this play through. Yesterday I (continued below)
NMS story spoiler
finished the mission deciding weather or not to let Artemis die. The revelation that there is a AI on the anomaly that has a single solar system simulation immediately caught my eye.
That, along with the email question above From Archie
Has me very excited to tie in the NMS story with this ARG and explicitly points to a single solar system. The simulation contained assumes, at least, no transport out of that single system. The easiest way for the simulation to achieve that is to change the trajectory of the simulation away from space travel in some way.
This interview was done in 2016 with Glixel, Rolling Stones gaming offshoot which… no longer exists. It’s been expunged from the internet. Going to try the wayback machine to see if I can pull the interview directly. Such a shame this wasn’t archived. Things like this are a treasure to our community. I will do my best to find it again.
