Has anyone seen a version of the starting multitool with more slots?

No. I’m not sure there is a different variation.
The patch notes mention the an extra slot was added to the starting multitool.

That is good to know because Apollo wants you to upgrade you multi-tool and when I got to that point, I had to remove an item to have room. I was one slot short of doing all I was prompted to do in the story line.
However, I don’t know if I gained a slot on the multi tool I already had…will check.
