This started happening yesterday. Every time I load my game, my ship is no where to be found. It is not on the landing pad where I left it when I logged out. It is as if it has decided to take a joy ride in my absence.
This is a pain with my water base I am working on. I never have any Nav Data on me so I cannot call my ship to the landing pad. Thankfully, I have the top of a crashed Freighter nearby that I can call my ship to. (Ok. Scrap that, I can’t call it there either, even though I can land there.) Otherwise, I would have to swim to the nearest island.
Is this a bug or just one of those things…?

“just one of those things” with NMS is a bug. :sympathy:
I have not experienced this, but I have had all my beacon markers disappear until re-logging. Never lost a ship, though.

On PC
I have had since the last patch update i think, after landing on my base landing pad and either returning through base teleporter, or on a new game session where i had parked on landing pad at base, that my ship was in same position as kanding pad but on the planet surface under the landing pad, ie my landing pad overhangs the surface, i built base on a hilltop, so was easier to spot, but very disconcerting when seeing the empty pad

And I have been through a lot of teleporters and portals in the last few days…I don’t think this started with the update, for me. Maybe the portals, etc…triggered something. It is not related to my BC because it sits close to my landing pad. Is happening at all of my bases that I have checked.

The guy at the portal in the Nexus is always saying the portals take something from you when you use them. In your case your ship apparently.
Is there a cave system underneath your base?

Perhaps. I am going to check all of my bases. So far, I know it happens at 3 of them.

Fixed an issue that could cause a ship docked at a Trade Outpost to be placed underneath the landing pad when loading into the game.
WooHoo! Hopefully the 3xperimental patch just fixed the issue.
