Anyone else have trouble finding common flying fauna? On two of the mission planets I failed to find one common flying on each, before I ran out of time. I did however find an extinct flying creature

This bug was introduced with Xeno Arena. These tiny little eye flyers appear and seem to block off the final discoverable flyer. They are the same creature as you get as a reward from the Xeno Arena NPC, Oceanus.
It seems their pets break loose every now and then and cause extreme boundary failure
