How does it feel performance wise?

Really nice. On windows I have a lot of lag. Sometimes feels like my feet are sticking in mud. Linux gives a much smoother experience. I turned tess down to high because there was a little shifting in the ground as it would bump up then shift and rebump. High setting is much more settled. My screen tearing is also completely gone. On windows it would tear when I turned quickly. I forgot to look at fps…will check that later today. I have to say that Linux allows for a much smoother performance than windows. Thanks for the help! :grinning:

I’m asking since I had the same feeling even though my FPS counter is sometimes all over the place, but it doesn’t stutter like it did on windows

Man I cannot wait till all my favorite games are on Linux cause I am fed up with all the proprietary crap that Microsoft does with Windows

Right now I only have a few games that work natively in Linux. NMS is not one of them but you can make it happen. It is worth it.
I agree about Windows. It causes so many issues. Too bad they can’t just scrap it and start over. I am not a programmer or coder but my understanding is that windows still runs on the old windows NT kernal from 1999. So basically that is why there are so many issues with new programs. They just tack onto the kernal. At least that is my understanding. Windows can’t read ext4 format.

You might wanna keep tabs on this. It’s basically a project to make a good Windows OS. Rough on compatibility as of now, but it’s something I’d support as it improves.

Before we get too far off topic for this thread…
when I started up NMS in Linux for the first time, I started a new save just to jump in and see how it was running before moving over my old save data from windows. The planet I started on had icicles hanging from the trees. I had never seen this before. Sadly, I had no ship and no way to save so I was not able to return after setting my graphics so the one pic I got is not the best. But here it is.

Here is more of the Purple Grass Planet I just can’t seem to leave.

I have returned to Euclid, this is the RIM worlds.
I can not access them. The game will not allow me to pick them to travel too.
