Remove Recharge Hydroponic Planter Requirement

Yeah I have a few of them, but to stay under the limit I crafted a bunch of individual planters as well, those are a pain to recharge, well all of them are. I wish we could craft a recharge unit and connect all the planters to it, you only would need to recharge once, it would be a significant amount of fuel but only once.

The planters no longer need fuel after 1.37
Excellent PR Hello Games. Good on yiz!!!
YAY

Edit:
They still have the fuel-up icon thingy but they are running without actually needing fuel.
Not sure what happens if you build one from scratch and put a new plant in it… gunna test it now.

Edit2:
They work right from start up without fuel.

I hate to see new functionality go… Even if it’s just a grindy hassle. (most interactions fall into that category, to me, anyways)
Would be nice to have it as an extra for the dedicated pothead, as a way to either double the yield, or half the growing times…?

@Mad-Hatter - Thanks for the update, this is awesome news.

You may get your wish
I’m testing 2 gravatinos side by side one fueled and one not.
Fueled one is at second stage while other hasn’t moved…
I hope I’m not wrong!

Testing.
Fueled one is on left.

as you can see both are running but I stuck fuel in the left one given it still has an icon to see what happens. So far its the only one doing anything.

Mad-Hatter doing the important work for us that are at work and can’t test it yet.

Update.

As you can see; fueled one has reached harvest age but unfueled one has not changed.
That’s a bit worrying…

So no changes…Just that they are powered, but now need fertilizer it seems. Thanks for testing this Mad-Hatter

That would be no change at all?

Actually seems to be worse, because now it lacks a visual indication.

I think what you are seeing here is the same as before, but the uncharged one glows blue instead of red.

Looks like they nerfed planters even more by making them look like they are running when they aren’t???
WTF!
The original test gravatino hasnt changed and a pair of starbulbs are producing the same result .
@ekult they are both a blue glow and neither are pulsing. The only indication regarding if it is working now is to actually check the fuel icon.

I feel embarrassed to have gotten excited about this.

I think the red glow was what was making people presume they needed charging to work at all. There should be a fine mist spraying over the charged plants. Pre 1.37 did this to indicate watering/fertilizing, so it’s weird both your plants seem to have that mist, is that true?

All i can tell you is that on the actual experimental on PC there’s no change about planters, i don’t think it’s different on PS4

Yeah…thats what stuffed me up.
They look like they are running. Blue glow, sprinkling mist. The only way to check is to highlight the icon now. Either they are super slow or are dormant until fueled.

Talk about making someone feel stupid…

Been a lot of changes to the universe so these forums are the only way to test this stuff sometimes. Don’t feel dumb, I can’t test it until maybe Sunday, so I appreciate this stuff. As long as you don’t start telling everyone how to find portals by following flags lol.

Cheers.
Appreciate that.
And here I was thinking HG had decided to fix a much hated nerf.
Oh well.

@Mad-Hatter I think they are now (post 1.37) working as intended…they are powered, but plants need the carbon to grow. But, the need to interact with each planter over and over is what we want removed this is an unnecessary grind.

Totally agree.
Now the grind will be worse because we now have to manually check every planter as there is no indicator that it’s out of fuel and we already know they don’t seem to follow the same timing.
I’m lost as to where HG are going with this one.
