Unique gameplay is an Automatic transmission selector 2M70
I sent him an email to say Hi. It bounced back, domain not found.
I also tried calling the number but I can’t do it from my mobile in Ireland. Maybe someone else could try that.
Am I remembering right… I think someone in NMScord yesterday, said they emailed arnaud@projectskyscraper.com and it didn’t get a bounce back… It can be so hectic in there I wasn’t sure if further clarification was made to this or if it got any traction from other Operators.
I decided to try email it myself to see… Will edit my findings in.
edit:
Your message wasn't delivered to **arnaud@project-skyscraper.com** because the address couldn't be found or is unable to receive email.
Hmm, guess not, maybe that Operator was Hallucinating. Or the email they tried was different than the one I attempted?
Iirc, they tried emailing arnaud@recalldreams.dev (the new domain) and it didn’t bounce. The issue is, the domain doesn’t have any mail handling set up anyway, so absolutely gibberish addresses will also fail to bounce.
Does this mean he’s not a real person at all? Why would he use a stock photo for his profile?
Bear in mind, Emily didn’t know she wasn’t real and believed she was a forum moderator (in-universe).
It’s not impossible that, in the story, an AI has managed to create a website and believes it is a developer.
Or they might be a real person (in-universe) and we’re supposed to overlook the stock photo.
Only time will tell!
Arnaud Lacours was a fictional character from the original Waking Titan game.
The photo is the original stock image Alice and Smith used to fake his biog.
Cool, it looks like I might have stumbled upon something relevant. I only glanced at his profile but you dissected it neatly.
I started another topic because it points to an archive by Good Guys…
There’s something else I wanted to mention. It seemed silly at first but I’m seeing a couple of connections now. Schrodingers Cat, Erwin Schrodinger lived and worked in Dublin for 17 years. I drive past this every day on my work route and every time I go by it gets me thinking about this. Schrodingers Cat Mural
Since Trinity College also cropped up earlier, I’m wondering if Dublin is a significant location?
Schrodinger in Ireland:
Dublin, Ireland (1939–1956): Fleeing Europe just prior to World War II, Schrödinger was invited by Éamon de Valera to direct the School of Theoretical Physics at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS). During his 17 years in Ireland, he lived at 26 Kincora Road in Clontarf (north of Dublin city) and frequently worked at Merrion Square in the city centre. He even became an Irish citizen in 1948.
Any connection to Arnaud is very tentative. It’s all based on this:
If you look at the code making up the Recall Dreams page, you find:
It doesn’t say it’s Arnaud. It says it’s a 41 year old French developer. Could be anyone. Could be a lie.
To be fair, Arnaud was born in Saint-Michel-sur-Orge.
The picture of Le Forgeron (from the Sunday Morning poem) was taken in Sevigny-sur-Orge, just a short distance away.
We know The Architect is French, and went to a concert in Lyon. The Architect is the only user on the new site currently.
It’s quite a coincidence, but I agree it’s not definite proof.
This is the internet. Everything you see could be a lie.
The Architect claims to be French. Perhaps it’s true. Andrea Doyon and Nathalie Lacoste (Alice and Smith) are also native French speakers, but they’re Canadian.
Saint-Michel-sur-Orge is some 400 Km from Lyon. Apart from both locations being in France, there’s no obvious connection.
The Architect is the only user currently on the new site because The Architect is the creator of the new site. We’ve known that from about day 3 of discovering the ARG.
So there could be a possible connection in Saint-Michel-sur-Orge, but everything else is just vapour.
Throwing a few other things out here:
There have been multiple hints towards Waking Titan from the beginning, indicating that there is a strong connection between the two ARGs (for example, the glyphs on the Atomium postcard).
In the calendar puzzle, the list of Elder Titanesses (the holidays) was missing Mnemosyne. Arnaud was writing a game, Les Tablettes de Mnémosyne, when he was accidentally trapped inside the system.
The Architect has an interest in indie games (the book in the cipher reveal image). Arnaud was an indie developer.
Arnaud had a quote, “History comes from memory”, which was a clue towards Clio in WT. In Project Skyscraper, the historical db (memory) was lost, which prompted the system to say “Past officially erased” (no memory, no history).
I’m not saying this is definitive evidence, but there are a few more hints than a single one-line description in the meta tag (for reference, Arnaud would also be 41 given his date of birth).
And I’m not saying a connection with Arnaud is wrong. Only that the evidence is pretty tentative. Time will tell.
Oh, indeed, we’re not disagreeing there. I just wanted to put a few things down for assessment. If the theory is correct, it could help with a write-up of how the narrative fits together.
If it’s wrong, I’ll happily wear the dunce cap! I’m enjoying the ride, wherever it goes.
