Purchase rather than Exchange new ship, Though No Freighter yet?

…aboard a freighter, I should have added

Would I be able to have two ships parked at a home base if I don’t have a freighter? I found a very banged up abandoned ship but a higher class than what I have now but I want to keep my existing ship. It gave me the option of buying it for 0 units, so I guess I would then have two ships. It required elements for repair that I haven’t even heard of, so the repairs would take some time, I imagine.

Is there a market for refurbished ships on a space station? Once I fixed it up, could I sell it to someone?

Yes. In fact, you might not even need a base. It seems you can summon them anywhere planetside.

Kinda… You can only trade it in. I’m currently looking into possible monetisation, but I have no idea yet how practical it will really be. One nice thing is that you wouldn’t have to repair them. Their trade-in value is unaffected by their current state. Just get them flightworthy so you can fly them to a space station or your freighter. If you have a base with a landing pad it might even work without that, but I’m nowhere near there yet.

@jedidia Thanks. I opted not to take the ship, as I don’t currently have a base or anything. I’m still trying to get my ship back up to snuff – I can’t find any fuel for my Pulse Engine. I’m a sitting duck for pirates if I head into space.

@TravelEcho Thanks. I didn’t know that. Can I scoop it up before the pirates show up? :joy:

Or Pyrite gathered from planets…
A minute of mining pyrite a day keeps the pirates away!
