If they are valid in the Portal Decoder, but have transport errors in the game, then its most likely a shadowstar.
I was able to get to the correct star at B1C9E4F072A5 by using the service app. It’s a nice little blue star in Euclid called Kovenie.
I have mapped the nearest Atlas Station and Blackhole for people who want to go there. If you’re not into using the Service App, then you can get the transport error and land in a system in the vicinity. Use the Atlas Station and Blackhole in my picture to triangulate and find Kovenie.
Sometimes shadowstars have two versions. If you fly out and manually fly back in, then you will get a different star system. This doesn’t seem to be the case with this one.
Kovenie System in Sea of Kehbetet Region (b1c9e4f072a5)
Thatbomberboi’s is
Ilkioaf-Dodon System in Uyoungn Shallows Region (8740677A9483)
Pr1sm’s is
Lufarger System in Nagimak Quadrant Region (53a05806675f)
As others stated above, the latter two seem to link to phantom or shadow stars or glass stars, not my kettle of fish but I’ve seen people discuss these ad nauseum.
Shadow stars don’t seem to be a likely avenue for the ARG to explore imo. If these were meant to be spots in-game, im sure the PMs would try to make them as accessible to the entire Operator-base as possible, instead of those using an unofficial service. WT’s in game drops were open to all afaik.
Ahh right, 03A0 could be a real SIV now due to purple stars… but I didn’t think 0740 could ever be a genuine SIV? It falls above the range of “last normal” stars but below the starting range of “first purple” stars. But then I really don’t mess with shadow stars either, so maybe you can just save edit yourself to any coordinates and the game will just use it as a seed?
The Havenmap is capable of mapping them as well as stars in the core that are usually inaccessible, It’s also able to pull a systems name and region accurately by Glyphs alone. Which is how I produced the above names.
I sent word to some of the residents there who are obsessed with these so hopefully they can find them for us.
This one seems to stand out the most as an odd one out since that first number is an inaccurate planet number, but it can of course be changed to any accurate planet number…
Maybe we just needed to point out that glitch, rather than go to them?
I agree with you that star systems inaccessible through normal game-play are likely not relevant to the ARG, nor required to explore. I therefor think discussion of shadow systems or phantom systems likely belongs in a different topic.
Understanding a bit of the mechanic behind it is useful in determination of any hex code provided to possibly be valid though. I have done extensive research into the shadow realms for a long time as some of you are likely aware. If anyone is interested, feel free to check out some of my main findings in an old archived topic: Shadow System Research - #30 by DevilinPixy
I would like to keep an eye on those hex codes though, considering they certainly have the potential to be a valid system by default (in any of the galaxies for that matter, as that value is not specified with this hex format).
Shadow from Haven visited the coordinates in Euclid via save editing and nothing was found.
An interesting correlation between these stars that are not visible on the map, is that these images aren’t also, technically, visible on the Project Skyscraper website.
But that might all change tomorrow should the page and clues we need to solve this suddenly appear alongside them.
My tinfoil hat is saying this might be the first hint (if this is official) of what the tenth anniversary update might contain. More star systems may be opened up to the player-base?
I guess people tried the reverse/mirror versions of the codes too?
The only other possibility is breaking each hex-code into 3 parts, and swapping them around with eachother from the other images, but that also seems like it could take a while and be overly complicated. And how do we know which goes first in the sequence? Order of time uploaded?
Certainly seeming like a wait until tomorrow and see. Architect is definitely gone sleepy-bye-byes right now.
Other thought currently about the “incorrect” planet glyphs at the beginning of the portal coords… there is the RNG possibility of there being up to 12 planets in a system. Obviously, right now, they are only opened for up to 6. However, each of those first numbers would then fall within the 12 possibilities. Perhaps that is mostly just wishful thinking, though
