This is how Waking Titan started - with tentatine contacts and teases to moderators of NMS groups. With a fake amateur radio club.
This one seems more low-key, based on a much smaller number of web resources. But that doesn’t necessarily mean much at this stage. I think they’re still in the preparation / publicity stage - they’re looking for their audience. They haven’t (yet) provided any way to interact with them.
Trying to find a puzzle or something, but not much luck so far. For now the biggest puzzle I got is finding a reasonably well working Twitter viewer that doesn’t annoy me.
Since the verse claims to be a quote from Stevens, but isn’t, I thought it might be some kind of riddle.
I grew up on cryptic crosswords - I still do The Guardian crossword in my head, without writing anything down -but I can’t make anything of it. If it is a puzzle, it’s extremely obscure.

I tried briefly to reopen an X account and it will not accept my phone or email. I will take that as a sign
How long has it been? I recall reactivation only being possible within 30 days, after that, the account is lost.
At the moment, there wouldn’t seem to be much point giving us puzzles, as we’ve been given no way to report the answers back - and therefore no way to progress the game / narrative.
At the moment, it just looks like fragmented bits of a story unfolding. Perhaps that’s all it will ever be.

I was also getting frustrated with the webp conversion. Just give me my damn jpg!
I resorted to right clicking the image, copying, and then pasting into an image processor and saving, but I reckon that doesn’t copy over some vital and needed meta data etc so was just giving me nothing on those steganography detection websites.
I also tried just saving the image and then changing the file extension to .jpg and .jpeg but I dunno if that’s also resulting in a corruption on the true original file. I’m clueless when it comes to stegasaurustography but I figured I’d try brute force my way around it anyway just in case I got lucky.

There’s a few links to a json in the source as well but it might just be the standard WP Json, I couldn’t make any sense of what I was viewing.
It seems to use a WP plugin called Jetpack too, which I found to be an interesting coincidence. Researching it further it seems to be a very common one that has a lot of utilities, so definitely just a happy coincidence.
I asked the same thing earlier. What happens if 16 connections are attempted at once?
I wonder if I should mention this arg to other nms streamers. Im a bit torn.
It seems The Architect has been fishing in a lot more ponds than ours. It’s just that we were the first to bite - and even then, they had to metaphorically poke me with a stick to get me to take notice.
Thing is, it’s not 2017 any more. Internet scams have become exponentially more sophisticated, and people are much less likely to click on an unknown web site.
Even now, I’m not sure what we’re dealing with here - it may be more professional than it appears.
Thats exactly why im torn. It seems legitimate, but… Especially the timing. It makes sense for it to start now to make the august anniversary, but conversely, its an opportune time for bad actors as well.
The more the merrier @BoomstickJoe but maybe preface it with not knowing wether its officially endorsed or just fan made or even malicious.
@Ekimo1920 was going to make an announcement about it across some discord communities and point em here I think, but wants to work out their tracking webpage a bit more to have credit etc and a more cohesive timeline.
They work 12 hour shifts in EMS most days so I’m not sure when they’ll have the time to get around to it but I would imagine some time closer to the weeks end.
We were faaced with the same decision. In the end, wee decided that the reason we’d been contacted was to spread information about the ARG. That’s what the creator wants.
Then, when we didn’t find any threats, we decided to treat other people as adults, capable of assessing their own risks, and making their own decisions. We decided to tell people.
Jetpack is used in wordpress. My website is made with wordpress. I found this, Hope it isn’t a behind the curtain. https://wordpress.com/reader/feeds/178879468 They added tags: unstable and unverified so i think not, but this is the root of the website. Wordpress has a blog style page that you can comment on. The tags may have been added by wordpress, i can’t remember how it works.
