Was a bit outta the loop w/ post WT running comments but, is it just the about page that’s changed, or a change of permissions too?

Anywho, this is all making me feel very nostalgic haha.

Well that’s a bit odd

Anashel has always had moderator powers, just not been listed in the About page for some time. They were one of the main people behind WT at A&S to put it in a nutshell.

It’s possible logging in after some time has just refreshed the About page, perhaps inactive mods disappear from the list after x amount of time.

I know I got a message from them back in 2022, I wish I coud confirm wether it happened back then too or not

I’m using AI quite regularly. I just happen to know how it works, on account of being a software developer. They’re obviously not always wrong. But on account of image editing you have to be aware that they are not doing what you’re telling them to do. They cannot interpret the instruction. If you tell them to shift pixels or stuff, they won’t know what that means. Their statistical model will prompt them to do something to the image so it looks like images that had picels shifted, but they will use data from their training to do that. They won’t go and apply precise mathematical transformations to the image, because they can’t. That’s not how they work.

What you expect them to do is run an algorithm on the image. To do that, they would need to write the algorithm, and then apply that to the image, but unless you’re using an agent, they can’t run code. Therefore, ask them to produce the algorithm, and then run the algorithm on the image, and you might get the result you intended. Otherwise, you’ll just be polluting the image with foreign data. Which for the purpose of finding patterns hidden in the image is, as mentioned, worse than useless.

I’m pretty sure the original sign was actually a 1. There was a much larger sign a meter or two away that had more details.

9 posts were split to a new topic: Sunday Morning poem - new changes

We know now the sky is a lie, taken from another image. And that the art piece is also no longer there…

Perhaps that is what the change is reflecting? The poem is actively changing with our understanding of the image.

I created a new topic for the Poem changes, continued discussion can be found here:

Regarding Wallace Stevens, I found this quote that refers to the world as a tower… could it have something to do with it?

“Secret Man”

The sounds of rain on the roof
Are like the sound of doves.
It is long since there have been doves
On any house of mine.

It is better for me
In the rushes of autumn wind
To embrace autumn, without turning
To remember summer.

Besides, the world is a tower.
Its winds are blue.
The rain falls at its base,
Summers sink from it."

Out at the moment so can’t dig it out, but I thought I found an image that showed it was something else. I’m probably wrong though, so unless/until I find it assume I am.

EDIT found it (not quite what I thought it was)
