I love seeing the Todd rundown of the edits​

thought I should finally dust off my ETARC account and become active on here again (outside of the watcher bot, over 500 notifications in there )

But here are the changes I’ve done

Landing page is cleaned up - removed some old “puzzles” from the very beginning and as Todd said started to add drop down menus into the page.

New here is now a bit neater as well - not just a straight page of text for you to read through

puzzles, architect, credits have all been condensed into neat menus with tabs you can click to change what your reading.

And my favorite part is the calendar layout with the “eras” color coded and underlined with the major events titling the days. When you click on the calendar it’ll bring you directly to that day for you to read up on

Also tonight I’m gonna hopefully push out the watcher update. Watching other bots made me realize that the logistics for mine were very outdated. So new embed styling, more data being watched, and new alerts too biggest reason for this update is the watcher bot writes logs that I use for tracking updates and major changes (not to steal anyone else’s thunder)

@Ekimo1920 does good work, they had this site up and running pretty much the first day the ARG was announced on ETARC. They seem to have hacked extra hours into the day somehow

We have a few operators/CitizenScientists like this, come to think of it. Verdicts still out on wether theyre actually human or some sort of transcendant beings that live among us. Using their powers not for evil, but mundane niche dweeby stuff.

One last update for a bit - watcher bot got some updates - this one has been worked on for awhile i just never finished it but the bot now show a lot more information for what all happens to the pages and now those “something changed but dont know” updates now will show what changes rather than going to hunt for it - the links the architect also updates will show as well - and now theres a unix time built to be dynamic and show your time rather than what was being sent out

The Traveller celebrated Unification Day. The Gek headed for the Grand Festival. The Vy’keen journeyed toward the Sundering, three moons of glory and tempers in cramped quarters. Only the Korvax mourned as they watched the fall of their homeworld play out in hologram, asking quietly whether the universe is different now.

It is the Korvax log that stays with me. The hope of it. The universe is different now, isn’t it?

Today is July 19th. It may be past that for some. When you read this it may be a different day altogether. But it was on this day the Architect posted a message about unity, about every contributor being indispensable, about not abandoning the fight.

There is no time to scoff. No time to bicker. This is the real test of the virus. This is the real puzzle. Our unity…

Perhaps there was as Sundering today. Tempers were tempers, as the Vy’keen log notes with unintentional wisdom.

But the nineteenth log was always about what comes after the fracture. It was always about what lies beyond. The gathering that still happens when cooler heads prevail. The collect1ve that remembers all that we were, are, and could become.

The universe is different now, isn’t it?

New communication and a request from the Architect: Helping The Architect: What Triggered The Virus?

So there is a lot of discussion on discord about choosing emissaries to email the Architect.
This is because he mentioned receiving 30 emails per hour
That is excessive.
There does need to be a general consensus that we do not need to be emailing Archie with every thought.
Archie also assumed we were sharing our emails with all operators.
Apparently, many were not
Going forward, it would be a good idea to agree, do not send emails to the Architect unless the Operators agree it is warranted.
All ideas should be shared with the group first. (If time allows it)
That way, no one feels left out. And we are all privy to possibly important info.

Probably a middle ground is needed.

During a live puzzle solve these are sometimes very fast and dynamic, there’s no time to run things by committee, and not should people feel obliged to.

There are other times we have more flexibility to reach a consensus, such as the Q&A or the virus solve, in those times perhaps nominating a contact point makes sense.

@the_architect if you have any direct ideas for what operators could be working on, or if you find any clues, perhaps you could share in the forum threads. If information is in an operators inbox there is a risk of it getting lost in the noise. Sorry if this is maybe applying more pressure to you rather than actively solving your workload problems.

There are some pretty awesome website builders here, wonder if there is some form of clock in/out system we can put in place where if someone is available and can devote their time to keeping watch on discord/here/socials etc to be on top of discussions, and be the point of contact for Archie while they are on, but also can also allow them to clock off and relinquish their responsibilities to another who is online at the point of their signing off.

Doing something like that might allow for both individuals that want to step up to the plate for a time to be able to do so, while also allowing for a more robust 24 hour watch on various things.

But, making something like that is quite a lot of work I am sure. Just food for thought in the brain.

My thinking along this is that whoever would be “on watch” could be available on discord or something like in a voice channel, but now it’s making it sound more like a CCTV job which probably isn’t for everyone

I think the discussion ended with let’s just try not to spam Archie.
Try to communicate relevant info with the Operators.
If we are in a time crunch, realize there isn’t time to share all decision making info.
And if you send Archie buckets of emails and he doesn’t reply that’s because he has been overwhelmed by the amount and cannot possibly answer them all.
Just a general understanding.

A Project Skyscraper CCTV channel that was just a live stream of a screen with the Haven updates that pop on with alarms that sound, as well as a few of the PS glitching pages on monitors… This would be cool! I’d have it running in the background on my TV lol
