Project skyscraper / no man's sky arg

Can confirm, Vector still safe and drinking their endless cup of coffee. No need for @the_architect Architect or Ghost to worry about them leaving their station to infiltrate Tower from a physical location, they are still definitely at their computer. Definitely :eyes:

On the road again today. Keep up the good fight :flexed_biceps:

Friends, I have created a Wayback Machine for the Project Skyscraper website.

I just posted a video about it, but I won’t self-promote here, despite the fact that the video is un-monetized.

I will post the archive’s address, hoping that the AI bot will not silence me…

Here you go: archive.goodguysfree.com

It is triggered by @Ekimo1920 's bot (thanks, dude!), and unfortunately did not start on day-1… So incomplete, but hopefully useful to some.

Thanks for sharing this, it will be a useful resource during the ARG and a handy artefact for historians after the fact.

Don’t worry about the self promotion, we’re enjoying your videos enough we’ll most likely post it ourselves in the appropriate thread

Glad to see you decided to go ahead with it!
It was so late the other night it didn’t even register who I was chatting with, sorry! Love the videos you’ve been doing. Good, quick, honest recaps of events

Please feel free to pick and pull any of the older/missing project-skyscraper page content (or diffs to backwards build the page changes) from my (unserved) mirror to fill any of the gaps if it has the needed captures to fill it out.

I am… Can’t believe it.

I just realized the ‘TOWER’ here links to the secondary website… That’s not new, right? I was just stuck in my day-job too much to notice earlier…

It’s new as of yesterday. It’s a redirect from the Architect’s original staged wordpress site. (The one with the encoded TOWER in the URL)

Damn that was quick. Love the organic feedback loop all our poking is causing.

The “Action required” for this log was solved! Just popping the solution here for prosperity:

Been so busy I’ve been missing EVERYTHING! So we nearly have the TOWER access?

fingers crossed we do! It’s building a bypass protocol now…

We are so insensed with this ARG, that I just saw a notification on my phone from a Telegram user:
Tjlwpz Yhtb

I immediately rushed to the school cipher to see what it is, having serious doubts about whether this Universe is real… But it was just another spam message.

The “deciphered” name came out “Yjlopz Teyi” and I am sure it wasn’t Jlo … LOL, but for a moment I thought - what if the Architect is now contacting people over Telegram?

Right, enough with that nonsense. Sorry - just had to shared.

Just wait til we enter the TOWER. Reality will glitch.

Oh my, stay safe out there, not everything can be explained with the school cipher!

I guess we will have to wait until we get the next cipher before we can go back and decipher what this actually said :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s alright. I just got a bit ahead of myself. But the momet I realized it was a spam message, it was “Report spam, delete this conversation” + click OK. Done.

Hi there!

Found this post in Reddit and it sounded strangely familiar:

Found a strange encoded archive while exploring an old repository. Most of the material appears to be Base64 and references candidates, logs, and something called Project NULL. I decoded one section and it only raised more questions.
Has anyone seen anything similar before, or noticed thses posts.

Sounds like an ARG

That’s what confused me. This wasn’t the only file.

The archive seems to contain a lot of similar entries. Most are still encoded, but alot of the others looked different. It wasn’t just Base64, there seems to be a mix of format I don’t recognise, mixed in with coordinates, timestamps and candidate assessments.

One of the files references:

CANDIDATE_4419
LOCATION: LONDON
STATUS: VETTING FAILURE

The structure matches the first file almost exactly, but some of the encoded sections don’t look like standard Base64 at all.

I haven’t gone through everything yet. There appear to be hundreds, possibly thousands, of similarly named files in the archive and I’m only a few logs in.

At the moment I’m just trying to work out whether this is some kind of puzzle, archive, dataset, or something else entirely.

Have you come across archives that mix multiple encoding methods that seem to be vetting list, its locked me out at present but i kept a few i was working on but thanks anyway sskintight.

Maybe worth a look?

Hard to say as they seem quite vague/reluctant to give the source of the archive. They also reference there being 1000s of files in this archive they were exploring, some info on where or what this “old repository” is would certainly help matters.

Project NULL brings up two things. An upcoming video game but also, a production team that make horror based radio-plays/podcasts. It might be more related to those two things than anything here.

Again, with OP withholding vital things like the location of the repository or why they were even exploring it in the first place, kind of gives off the impression they’re doing that intentionally to build intrigue or interest, and might be something of their own machinations.

The user also only registered to reddit 3 days ago.

Decoding their text dump, it seems to read more like SCP type stuff, so they might just be trying to chase the Back Rooms hype.

Looking at the Project Null game (being made by a solo developer) there is definitely some overlap between the two… Here’s the steam page description for the game

You wake up in a dark forest and you don’t know how you got here, and you don’t remember anything. But somehow everything changed. You meet strange creatures, and no one is very friendly in this world. Soldiers, monsters and basically everything in this place is trying to end your journey quickly.
