Project skyscraper / no man's sky arg

Good catch! I was wondering if anyone would recognize him with a Golden Gek statute glitching over him.

Ha ha! Had to squint, but no doubt --I used to be able to see him from my old 16th Ave apartment window. And one of those bobble-butt statues now sits a kitchen shelf; a distinctive shape for someone in the know.

Indeed! I had originally planned to take my selfie with the one at Railroad Park, as the photo would have been less of a logistical nightmare to take. I was sad to learn (probably far too late) that he had been destroyed.

Up to 101 courses now. My question is why 2016…what memories do we have? Who’s memories are these? I did not really know anything about NMS. I saw the trailer like everyone else and thought, well this looks really nice. I want to try it.

I have a bit of free verse I wrote about my first time playing…it is here somewhere…

My first guess was that maybe these are important dates to do with NMS’s promotion… but I dont think there were this many articles, trailers or tv spots released in 2016 for the game.

Maybe the System was reading Seans personal diary?

Is it possible these 2016 dates are tied to tweets from sean from this period? Similar to how selfie geks glitch photo was chosen and tied to the date that sean retweeted them?

I dont recal the nomanssky soc media feeds been too busy before release but then again I dont think I was paying any attention to soc media in 2017.

I doubt all 365 days of 2016 have something specific to NMS (unless Sean found an old timelapse of the developement of NMS, and plans to share the entire year with us).

My guess is this is the crescendo, leading up to a climax of the most-submitted date(s) of 2016.

I’m wondering if the 2016 memories are going to be “behind the scenes” pre-Waking Titan memories of Emily/Loop16 being in development, or something like that.

Which would mean we have no details yet on what these memories are, and we’ll restore them through puzzles in the next phase.

Either way, I’m looking forward to whatever is coming!

My moonface avatar, which actually hangs on our living room wall, was commissioned from Paul Wilm, who painted the Vulcan that stands (stood?) at the BJCC. I think there’s still one on 1st Ave near our Roebuck neighborhood (not sure who painted that one). Well! Maybe @the_architect will have us goosechase around the 'Ham next!

That’d be great, though they’d better wait for the weekend with my work hours being what they are.

If it want lateral thinking. has anyone actually trying to figure the types of hats, the oRder thier put Nt, have they been seen before during the ARG as well, just tossing my own “hat” it for ideas oe theories

and reading up on knowing much of this is related specifically to the year 2016 can that information lead to something to add.

They were part of Walking Titan(first ARG) the hint is “Six Thinking Hats” and it has to do with the physiology of solving problems, actually a pretty cool read.

It’s interesting cause the 2016 dates are actually before WT and some pre-release of NMS. Personally with the other ARG themes this go around I’m getting the idea the PM is asking us to look at the bigger picture, but that goes into my hopium for what I’m expecting lol.

The six thinking hats were seen before as a password hint in the first phase of Waking Titan (link). You could try posting a glitch for 2017-07-08 at 14:30 UTC or 2017-07-08 at 14:35 UTC, I think we don’t have it yet

Hi all, I have been following the ARG with interest, but alas I am not a puzzle solver or coder and have been blown away by how complex this all is, so I am hoping wiser heads can tell me if I am barking up the wrong tree, we are looking for time stamps if I understand correctly? I wondered if this is relevant thinking, the Atomium strongly resembles glyph 11/16 so I looked for events in brussles for that month, one such event was the 6th annual European Robotics Week (ERW) 2016 which ran from November 18 to November 27, so I looked up events related to robotics that month, in the same month a web series ‘Sophia Awakens’ was released, it features Sophia, officially the Earth’s first robotic citizen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LguXfHKsa0c it has similar themes to the ARG of an awakening AI, it’s a bunch of lose threads to pull on but could the release of that series produce a relevant timestamp?

Absolutely, I think all or anything that fits the themes explored by Waking Titan or No Mans Sky fit the bill. Even @the_architect 's early soc media reposts were just anything with the number 16 and robotics/AI/philosophy adjacent.

The format for time stamp entry is

Username/Org (if representing a group)

Timestamp in Unix, if you don’t have an exact time, the date and any ol hour will do though 16:16:16 is always a fun time of day to pick (hh:mm:ss)

I use this converter to turn a date/time into a unix timestamp https://www.epochconverter.com/

And then the last entry box is for a description of sorts, the more detail and emotion you put into it, the better effect it seems to have.

There’s also an Operator made google sheet that is being used to log submissions if you’d also like to contribute your timestamps to this, though it’s understandable if doubling the work load of data input takes up too much of your time right now.

Submitting a Memory Timestamp produces a unique URL, so if you don’t have time to submit to the sheet, we would still love to see your submission shared on this thread here

https://forums.atlas-65.com/t/request-memory-timestamp/9525

Have fun and thanks for joining in. I’m not a good puzzle solver either, so these creative style submissions are always my favourite part of ARGs, everyone gets to participate <3

Thank you, I will give it a go

You can send in lots, you know. There’s no penalty for getting it wrong - the more you send in, the greater the chance you’ll get a mention in the game.

Thank you, I have updated the sheet, but the comments are invisible with a little orange arrow in the corner unless I hover over them, I wondered if you know is this because it is awaiting a permission/approval or have I done something wrong?
