Well, with the whole miniaturization thing, we would have eventually had amps on a chip anyhow. I recall when stereos were pieces of furniture. Big pieces. And TVs smaller than we have now used to weigh more than the bigger ones we have now.

Well, I will diverge from the crowd and state this, not only did the huge speakers sound better, (mine were about 3 feet tall) so did the bag phone (which was my first cell phone) I miss them both
So, I wonder if the replacement for the Atlas was much smaller? I would think so…
