There is a Discord for NMS community leaders to arrange the big 10 year celebration.
The leaders will then keep their communities informed with the latest info.
Right now, they are just gathering leaders from across the NMS communities.
Actually, right now, they are all playing the update. 
So don’t worry, you are not missing anything.

Well we’ve a year and I think we could totally pull the whole cult thing off, in the style of the Atlas CSD community and it’s legacy.
We just hide our cult under the guise of an online ARG pretending to be for No Mans Sky.
Then we give you eager ARG players simple weekly tasks like “infiltrate the highest ranks of your local government”, that kinda thing. Keep it simple.
It’ll be fun! 
And if someone also wants to set up a fight club on the side… I’m not saying that’s fine. I’m just saying I won’t talk about it.

I think we really must have a huge skydiving event for the anniversary.
After my daughter and I met in space and dove to a planet together, a world of possibilities opened up.
I’ve noticed in space walks there are two gestures, thumbs up and thumbs down. If you do the regular thumbs up in a corvette parked on the nexus it will do the space walk variant (until the foreseeable patch).
What I’d love to see is sky diving variants of most of the gestures too (for now it just does them normally as you fall Looney Toons style)
In fact, make one of those gestures be a handheld sign that says Yikes! if they’re going to allow us to gesture like Wile E Coyote presently
I really think a group could dive in formation. You can slow down and even stop before hitting the atmosphere.
With matching jetpack trails , and a dedicated cinematographer and a choreographer, I think quite a show could be produced with everyone landing amidst a fireworks display.

ERBurroughs built a huge base. Then there was discussion about reaching purple systems without the Atlantid drive.
Conclusion, you can’t. Even if you hitch a ride on a Corvette. You will be dropped in the nearest non-purple system…
So if you have not completed that mission, you may want to do that now.
Yeah they did a good job making sure nobody gets there without experiencing the journey first. Except for expeditions 
You cant even use glyphs to get to a purple system if youve not unlocked em, it gives an error at the portal.
Which causes confusion on reddit posts advertising bases for visiting. People never mention star colour, just dimension/galaxy so you end up with people not knowing why the glyphs wont work and OPs also not knowing why the glyphs wont work for that person.
Hopefully it wont be too long until the memos hammered home and people realise rhey need to specify its a purple star system when sharing.

I love this idea! There was a skydiving/exocraft driving relay race during the UD celebrations that I really enjoyed spectating.
The skydivers had a series of rings suspended in the air they had to get through. There was a corvette that ferried participants to the starting point.
I could see this easily being turned in to a choreographed air show. Maybe a pre-built viewing tower for folks to get good seats at whatever their desired elevation is.
So groups of players with the same jetpack trail jump together?
It would likely look best.
The problem with all of this is I am not a Blender builder. I am not sure how much would be involved.
I can build on the ground but I have never built in the air…
And I do not yet know if anyone else is working this idea
I prefer plain vanilla play myself.
And, at the rate things are l going, I may be lucky enough to have my new PC up and playing NMS by anniversary time. 
Actually, it must be up and running by early April, as my 2025 taxes program will not run on the old PC. Taxes. Sigh. Headache #666.
