To add context, the German woman works for RT RT DE - Wikipedia .
RT = Russia Today. A TV news and features channel, which even in the days of Glasnost and Perestroika was very pro-Russian and jingoistic - but under Putin became a straightforward Russian propaganda outlet. It’s now banned in the UK as a broadcast channel.
Wow. That explains why you can see the cogs visibly creek and crack behind her eyes when faced with obvious illogical fallacies.
Thanks for the info guys <3
I saw a lot of memes about how voters didnt understand what Tariffs were but I’m starting to realise neither does trump.
Or, more realistically, he realises his voters don’t and is playing into that ignorance.
Michael Moore warned us to dismiss him at our own peril a LONG time ago. I try to remember that when I make “orange man dumb” jokes.
It is definitely the latter. He said different things to different groups. He is not stupid. He knows how to manipulate people and how to play their ignorances.
Now that stores like WalMart and Target are informing the general public to expect price increases, people are realizing they have been sucker punched.
So to counter it, there is already a ‘voice’ condemning the retailers of being greedy…you can see how this is gonna roll. Try to hand people reality and someone is going to spin it to try and keep people misled.
I have also read there is a huge propaganda campaign in the making. Videos will soon plaster the airwaves telling people how great the economy will be when the tariffs kick in.
Fahrenheit 451 anyone? The books are already burning.
I find it unlikely. Trump would most probably have experience with tariffs from his construction company.
However, the haste at which they are being prepared to launch suggests to me that they may represent paying off campaign debts to certain domestic industries that supported it.
Well the greedy Canadians have all that lumber, and all that oil shale, and they’re just sitting on it - while here in the Good Ole U.S., we’ve long burned through all our natural resources, and most of everyone else’s too.
And, y’know, Canada’s always been a part of America - hey, I bet a lot of Canadians would just love to become U.S. citizens.
So that’s why the tanks are lined up along the border. It’s nothing bad - we’re just going to help Canada become a better country.
I have a friend who lived outside Chicago for years. There is a naval base there. It has been a long-running joke about why it’s there. Did they think Canada would invade? We now know the answer…
It’s all a con…

I have this silly sticker game I play when I want to go comfortably numb for a while. It’s funny and yet quietly disturbing.
Sometimes you place stickers and sometimes you peel them off.
The top one looks like Lewis Carroll got transported to modern times, and discovered LSD.
It appears to be a law court, but all the lawyers, the court officials, the police, and the prisoners (in their orange Guantanamo overalls) are green bug-eyed aliens. The judge’s head is missing, but his hands are green, so presumably he’s an alien too.
Everyone else - onlookers, protesters, reporters, revellers, are pink humans - but none of them are taking any active part in the proceedings. Top right, there’s a pigeon nesting on a big pile of money, and bottom right there’s a dollar bill with wings, flying away.
What are we to make of this?
Discuss.
An artists interpretation of Justin Roiland in court on SA accusations. He’s voiced a lot of zaney characters over the years… The pigeon on the money represents his former partnership with Dan Harmon.
Those look like a lot of fun @sheralmyst , gives me the same relaxing vibe as those colouring books for Adults that were in vogue in the 2010s.
In the first, I could not help but think of aliens, illegals, being deported, en masse, despite the fact so many are legal citizens who comprise a big part of the backbone of the economy and fill many jobs, who once also came across the border. They also came here seeking money and a better life but like a bird, the money can remain elusive, sprouting wings and flying away.
In the second, as many of these pics do, you see juxtaposition of many things like the girl on the bench who seems withdrawn and lonely sitting right beside a man who seems so fixated on whatever he sees that he fails to see what is right beside him. You wonder if they are a couple or just strangers on a bench.
And what is the hand reaching up thru the walkway?
Well, knowing who it was from, that was my first thought. Then I realised that it’s the aliens who are doing the deporting (or whatever).
It may just be a bit of surreal fun. I think if it does have a message, it’s that the justice system is an alien world to those not involved in it.
That is kinda the rub. Many immigrants work in law enforcement and the military and in Border Patrol. They serve as judges etc…and they voted in favor of deportation. Ironic.
When I was younger, I useed to enjoy examining the detail in paintings by the likes of Pieter Breugel, Richard Dadd, and Heironymous Bosch. It can be like a window into a bygone world - and all the more intriguing because we’ve now lost the cultural context - so we can now only guess at what most of these people were up to.
In the past, there was a company called Taschen who would supply extremely large, high quality prints of artworks, at pretty reasonable prices. I bought lots - but unfortunately, I haven’t seen them for years.
Many of the more interesting pictures are available online, but it’s difficult to find copies that will blow up large enough to properly see the detail.
Someone said ‘aliens’…?

You know, we could really lead a lot of people not just down rabbit holes, but into the tunnels and straight into a full on meltdown, if we really wanted to.
I have picked apart many old works of art but most of the time, what I saw became so disturbing, I had to quit.
That particular one makes me think the children were playing games that imitated the torturous treatment many of them would likely endure later in life.
Kinda like a momma cat playing with her babies is actually instruction on how to attack, defend and survive. It looks like fun and games until you really think about it.
