News From The Void

That’s not far off the price of a large ship in Star citizen, and it feels like you might actually get something out of this :stuck_out_tongue:

I play star citizen now and then with a friend and I love teasing him about the cost of digital models in the perpetually unfinished space game.

As for cruises, I don’t see the appeal. My understanding is you get to spend a very short amount of time in the countries it stops off in and then back on to the floating prison of excessive spendature and carbon emissions.

The only time I felt I wanted to be on a cruise is when I heard Flogging Molly has a punk rock cruise and all the entertainment were legends from the Boston and cali punk scenes.

Also this approach to lure in anti-trump folk for this cruise is just gross. Most of the people he’s going to have a major effect on wouldn’t even be able to afford a day on this cruise. Seems like it’s for rich “liberals” who don’t understand they’re one step shy away from being right wing conservatives :stuck_out_tongue:

Not a cruise fan here either. Last thing I want is to be stuck in the middle of the ocean with no place to run.

Bioshock 3: not quite in the sky, not quite underwater.

It follows an entrepreneur who just didn’t have as much money as Andrew Ryan or that Comstock guy to go full hog on their utopia and just bought a secondhand cruise liner instead.

The bit about two people getting kicked off the cruise and having their contracts destroyed was a bit, pardon the pun, overboard. Just for routinely complaining about the delays.

If yr stuck in Belfast for four months, you have every right to complain.

Though my empathy for them only extends so far as they were the type of people wanting to go on a cruise for that long :stuck_out_tongue:

Also for a ship offering political escape…

Being stuck in Belfast for months is pretty damn funny

I remember Belfast in the seventies. Honestly, it’s a lot more fun now.

Perhaps it would be a better world if ALL the irritating polititions were all plonked on such a luxury vessel & sent on a highspeed, no tech, drunk captain, run back & forth across the iceburg fields until they win the Group Darwin Award.

Would be very interesting to see what would happen…

Snowpiercer, but on a boat?

No, wait Netflix, don’t… ah, too late. it’s no wonder you have to start placing advertisment if you jump the gun without any kind of vision as soon as anybody mentions something you could do with one of your IPs!
(And what’s with that Cobra Kai ending? I mean, ok, it’s impactfull, but are you really going to conclude a 6-season soap opera without any closure whatsoever? That kinda sounds like a bad idea…)

Netflix love to prolong shows and then cancel them before they conclude.

Yet some shows I see on there that I’ve never heard of that are ongoing and have 15 seasons somehow and seen to be bad soap operas… Never cancelled by netflix.

I’m not saying this is what happens when governments pull funding from education but … I see no other reason for it -_-

We were the talk of Aljazeera live last night :stuck_out_tongue:

The fact they got a comedian on to talk about what’s happening in Ireland should tell you all you need to know about our governments fence sitting toe dipping policies. Never reflecting the people’s opinion but wearing it to the polls. Same as everywhere now eh?

This has been Tadgh’s fifth time on Al Jazeera, I think they love him <3

I’d be careful if I were you. Making America Great Again could well involve revival of the traditions of Salem. The religious right would just love an excuse for mass hangings and burnings.

No doubt. Only there is no tainted pumpernickel bread involved this time around.

Tainted Pumpernickel feels like an adequate nickname for the next POTUS.

We have a general election coming up and the Far right parties that emerged during lockdown after spending too long online, are getting bolder.

Walked by a bunch of these in my small village today. Why do they always look like lads who have probably commited domestic abuse or glassed someone in a pub? (Not Gino, he’s just odd :stuck_out_tongue: )

Can you tell by the party name, which countrys think tanks had a hand in funding them and organising them? The hint is in that big freedom word ya see there. the second hint is evangelical :stuck_out_tongue:

I keep telling myself it’ll never happen but can’t help but be anxious about how much propaganda has been spread around through letterboxes too…

Figured I’d share this since The Guardian is covering our failure to protect asylum seekers from them once again

If you are watching over here, the answer is, because they have. Men with power often abuse that power which often displays itself over the women in their lives.

I guess it was kind of a rhetorical question

We need some sort of Korvax solution. Nanites in their spawning pools to make them less aggressive.

They already love commerce and the smell of their own farts so they’re nearly there. Though maybe we could dial back the capitalist tendencies while we have em.

Just tell them it’s a sensory deprivation tank, but with a new age twist, all the big CEOs, movers and shakers are doing it.
