News From The Void

Tariffs went into affect at 12:01 am here in the US. The prediction is an 18% price increase on almost everything. Up til now, people have not felt the affect. Economists have said August was the date. Surplus goods shipped in ahead of tariffs, are almost depleted. Cargo ships have slowed to a fraction of what they were.

A certain news outlet has been praising the fact that tariffs are raking in billions. The government has flirted with stimulus checks to share the wealth.

So I did some research. The checks would be about $600. Big whoop.

When the shelves run dry, and some already are, and the expected price rises hit, it will be much more difficult for them to sing sunshine and rainbows.

However, I expect they will anyway. Anyone who doesn’t say things are wonderful is subject to lawsuit, firing and possibly deportation.

Thank you for the nutritious bowl of soup. :revolving_hearts:

The answer to those questions will always be the same: Because it seemed practical and cheap as long as we were not aware of the true cost. And it will always stay that way. Hindsight is always 20/20…

OTOH, this was done for prior politicians, Al Gore included. In some (many) cases, they didn’t even realist that the Secret Service had requested the raised water. Anything for a nice, safe photo op, I guess.

Those deported to ElSalvador have been sent on to Venezuela where checkups show they were abused and tortured mentally and physically.

He made the right move.

Give them a place to stay, but far away?

Why does it feel like he’s doing the thing they accuse others of doing…

Shipping homeless people… to states… to increase their voter turnout…

No, that’s just crazy talk…

As long as they don’t end up in El Savador or Sudan

Edit: the homeless are being placed in mental institutions without consent. Any with criminal records go to jail.

120 FBI agents have arrived.

Next step could be National Guard or taking command of the police force

Because obviously a spot in those is a lot cheaper than in a homeless shelter. And surely they have too few patients anyways, got to keep those lazy doctors busy!

It’s like Trump is trying to win a game where the goal is to come up with the worst solution possible.

I foresee a growing disdain for anyone who is not prospering financially.

If they are poor, sick, disfigured or in any way displeasing to trump, he will have them removed

This fits with the mental assessment that has been given about him.

The book written by his niece yields a lot of insight. No one in their family was allowed to be sick or show any signs of pain. Anyone not prospering was of no account.

Overcrowded insane asylums scare me as much as an El Salvadorian prison.

I vaguely recall something from the 2nd world war (I think) where captives in concentration camps, who couldn’t perform their assigned duties were called something like ‘useless mouths’ & were thus deleted.

My ‘modern’ history isn’t great so I may be mixing up my facts slightly so I won’t be offended if someone clarifies this but my point is that, at one time, a powerful regime under the influence of a very unpleasant dictator, completely justified these acts.

It starts with the useless, the insane & the addicts but it won’t take long until the disabled, the elderly & the mildly medically affected become targets.

I started a rant but I’ll stop myself as its nothing new to those familia wirh this thread.

The governments have failed their people & the polititions should be held personally accountable.

It will be a moment when they realize that even the young are afflicted with many things these days and many of them have decided against having kids. Not sure who will be left.

And then there is this

A journalist AND a key commander for Hamas. Wow. How do you even fit all of that in a day? I guess the Israeli Military have the best intel in the world and bad guy seeking missiles.

Unless someone’s telling fibs again? Nah, not ol’ BB. He’s as true as they come (heavy sarcasm is the only way I can process this ongoing onslaught)
