I mean, it’s not great, but it’s the military. Someone finding this “incredibly shocking and concerning” obviously has never done any kind of service… In Switzerland, you’d get fined out of your butt if you’d transport animals the way the military transports its soldiers
What does a bit surprise me is that they don’t roll out sleeping bags to lie on. In Switzerland, a sleeping bag is standard issue for every soldier. It’s a very thick thing designed for winter (and probably the single most useful piece of kit we are issued. Like, that thing is actually good!), so would certainly be too warm in LA at this time of year, but it’s halfways comfy to use as a mattress if the floor is even. But maybe they were sent in with light pack because somebody just assumed there would be accommodations without checking the situation. That would also very much be the military…
In any case, I’ve done my share of “sleeping on the pack”, but admittedly not for extended periods of time. But Food is a much more serious concern for morale.
This sounds to me like a military planning snafu. During one summer Army exercise in California, troops were dropped in along with equipment. But someone forgot to provide pullable water tanks.
Heat casualties mounted, commanders underreported how many soldiers were away from their units at medical treatment units due to heat injuries.
Some higher level command staff (who were joggers) started downplaying the issue by terming it “simple heat stress” – no problem. Right. Less soldiers in units means lower combat effectiveness. Get real.
Northern Ireland has been having a bit of it’s own race riots. Except with actual riots, by racists.

Like most riots in the British isles, it was kick started by terminally online people who feed off an immigration fear pipeline hearing some Romanian teens sexually assaulted a girl.
“See, this confirms everything we say and applies to all of them”. Completely ignoring the fact, every day, countless young Irish men, assault women. Where’s the riots there? Not only that, they’ve been invading people’s homes they deem as foreign and assaulting anyone unfortunate enough to not have already fled.
People have started putting their nationality/flags on the front door out of fear.
Trump this is the sort of stuff you call the national guard etc in for.

Well Israel just attacked Iran nukes and leadership and have basically declared war only to have US respond with a letter stating, ‘we are not involved’. Trump will convene a meeting…tomorrow…
The real fireworks show has just begun
There has been a marked wavering in western government’s support for Israel in the last few weeks. At the moment, the Israelis are just making a point “Back us, or this will blow up in everybody’s face”.
It’s a high-risk strategy, but if the Israelis lose the support of the west, they’re going to have to fight Iran anyway, but at a time of Iran’s choosing - and probably armed with nuclear weapons.
Why are people even anticipating GTA 6 anymore at this rate? What is there left to parody when we have become it? Just go outside if you want to experience rockstars next game (I wont say magnum opus because they say that about all their new games… You can’t just keep saying that! )
