Greetings from YUVTTEL-YUGAN6, the system where my Exosuit constantly screams “Hazard Protection Falling!”

I am writing this from my starship with the engine running. The views here are absolutely beautiful and amazing, but the atmospheres are actively trying to kill me.

I boiled on the Frothing Planet, roasted on the twin Scolding Planets mining Phosphorus, and froze on the Bleak Planet grabbing Silver. The gorgeous, green Viridescent Planet lulled me into a total false sense of security. I thought it was a peaceful paradise, but bam—a sudden, extreme storm hit and I was instantly about to die.

To make matters worse, two of these worlds have high Sentinel activity. The drones will shoot you just for mining Ferrite Dust, forcing me to hide in holes surrounded by Rusted Metal and Activated Copper.

Surprisingly, the locals are great! The Vy’keen (“Keens”) are super friendly, and most of the wildlife is actually peaceful. I’ve made friends with two-legged mantis-kangaroos, floating bleeding balloons, and cute little alien buggy creatures.

Even though I was originally sent here on a mission, I have absolutely fallen in love with this chaotic place. Despite the killer weather and angry robots, the vistas are breathtaking. In fact, I’m officially going to make this system my home and build a permanent base right here!

Wish you were here! (Mostly so you could distract the Sentinels while I grab more Cobalt).

Nice to see a few new postcards appear on the Shared Dream gallery. Running out of things to comment on them though without repeating myself, but I will complete this “game”.

Was nice to see a widescreen screenshot go up, I don’t think I’ve ever come across someone playing NMS with one personally.

I have played on my son’s widescreen and it was a lovely experience, I did not take any screenshots though. I may need to upgrade.

I wrote a little story for the system based on my character’s perspective. I’m not a native english speaker, so you’ll probably notice a lot of mistakes. Feel free to point them!

ECHO-SEER BEIOLOS REPORT
Designation: Beiolos

Window ID: 3989

System: Flaganr II

Entry I:
The portal folded shut with its familiar electrical hum. I emerged onto a paradise planet, not the barren wasteland I had expected. Arjorion XIX, a designation I’ve decided to keep as a sign of respect, was coated in shades of purple, cinnabar, and gold. Low-growing vegetation covered the ground, broken only by small groves of trees with green and scarlet leaves, whose foliage filtered the trinary light into a warm, crimson glow and made the air carry a mix of oxidised minerals and sweet pollen.

I took flight to survey the surroundings. The view confirmed my first impressions, and I chose a nearby flat mountaintop nearby to built a small outpost. It will serve as shelter for both myself and any traveller who follows these portal coordinates.

Entry II:
Satisfied with my initial survey of Arjorion, I broke atmosphere. A ship scan confirmed my arrival in the Flaganr II system. The system holds three suns and four planets. I have taken the liberty of appending my Window ID to the system’s registry, redesignating it Flaganr II // 3989. From right to left, the planets are as follows:

  • Orjorion XIX - Paradise world. Temperate climate with abundant flora and fauna. Minimal Sentinel activity. Site of my primary outpost.
  • Kualiettseb Meya - A large tropical planet shrouded almost permanently beneath dense cloud cover. Subject to superheated storms, yet home to lush flora and abundant fauna. Promising.
  • Ciksonos - An arid ringed world. Thin atmosphere, almost entirely devoid of weather beyond isolated cloud formations. No flora detected. Anomalous fauna present.
  • Dilfare II - A caustic planet plagued by highly acidic storms. Sparse fungal flora and almost no detectable fauna.

Driven by my compulsion to chart the system, I set course for Kualiettseb Meya, the nearest of the three worlds. As I descended through the cloud layer, I found a tropical world covered in vast oceans and dense rainforests. The clouds that blanketed the planet were neither toxic nor caustic, but their high temperature triggered my environmental warnings. I remained aboard my ship until the storm cleared. In the meantime, I observed the planet’s most prominent geological features: mountain peaks that rose so high they pierced the lower atmosphere.

Once conditions permitted, I landed and briefly explored the surface. The world beneath was vibrant and alive, but despite its towering mountains and vast oceans, it revealed nothing of interest. I recorded my observations and departed.

Entry III:

I did not spend too long on the blue planet. I took flight again, this time towards the ringed world, Ciksonos.

The system’s station orbited above the planet, so I decided to rest there briefly. I refueled, restocked my supplies, and spoke with the local authorities. I refuelled my ship, replenished essential provisions, and spoke with the station’s authorities. The system falls under Vy’keen administration. Following a brief discussion with the local cartographer, I resumed my journey.

I found Ciksonos desolated. Some kind of nondescript event appears to have stripped the planet of nearly all life, leaving behind only anomalous, dodecahedron-like structures dotting its surface. I also encountered an exotic phenomenon: a seemingly sentient sphere of energy that silently drifted across the surface. Finding little else of value, I prepared to leave for Dilfare II.
Finding little else of value, I prepared to leave for Dilfare II.

Before departing, however, I detected an unusual artificial structure. Closer inspection revealed it to be one of the so-called “Boundary failures”, a massive, hollow ring suspended above an ancient console, rotating endlessly against the silent sky. I interacted with it and noted down what I could find. Disturbed, I left the planet.

Entry IV:
I landed on Dilfare II. The caustic winds hit my ship as soon as I entered the atmosphere, but its reinforced hull endured without incident. I remained inside until conditions improved.

Once clear, I landed atop a high mountain range that extended beyond the limits of my visual sensors.

From this vantage point I conducted a broad planetary scan, which confirmed that the landscape was almost entirely barren. I detected no terrestrial fauna, only a few flying creatures that had somehow adapted to the planet’s hostile environment. Sparse fungal colonies sprouted from exposed rock formations, likely sustaining themselves from the caustic minerals continually deposited by the atmosphere.

I took a few notes and left the planet behind, setting course back to Arjorion XIX.

Entry V:
Several cycles have passed since my return to Arjorion XIX. During that time I have explored numerous sectors of the planet. My expeditions have uncovered a planetary archive, several excavation sites, and multiple ancient ruins. Their origin remains unclear.

During one such expedition, I encountered a settlement inhabited by my own kind. It was located in a large natural depression, enclosed on all sides by steep mountains. The inhabitants rely on starships and a massive lift structure connecting the basin to the surrounding highlands in order to reach the outside world. I learned that a recent skirmish between local authorities and pirates had damaged their communications array. After restoring it to function, the inhabitants offered me the position of Overseer. Given both my ongoing assignment within this system and the exceptional qualities of Arjorion XIX, I accepted.

Construction of the Overseer’s office began immediately.

While the architectural units handled the automated construction, I expanded my nearby outpost into a more permanent installation. The ground level now serves as a docking platform where travellers and merchants may repair and shelter their ships. Above it, a communal lounge and public house provide a place to rest, exchange stories, and recover from long journeys. The uppermost level houses my private quarters and research facilities, where I continue my archaeological work whenever my duties to the settlement permit so.

I await new communications from the System. Until then, I will proceed to develop the settlement on Arjorion.

As an aside, I usually prefer to live in isolation, so I’d appreciate if that was respected

Header: Operator Astrosurf66 251: Yosokolc Report #3

Greetings, System!

I was happy to see my time-sync entered the record correctly. My wife says I am time-blind, so like you I need all the help I can get.

I am still surveying Yosokolc. Planets Trinity & Moonmist are very much finished, but there is a dastardly creature on Suspended who has yet to appear to me. It dwells underground and is supposedly “common” according to the advance notes, but in the meantime I have logged everything else, including multiple instances of “rare” animals! It’s enough to drive an operator batty (I guess that would be convenient for the biosphere; there are no actual bats on the planet). To that end, seeking shelter from the constant blizzards, I’ve set up a watch camp in a comfortable cave. Perhaps I should set some traps as well. Be well, System! I will check in again soon!

Fleshed out “The Wasp Nest Portal Bar” a bit more. It now has a personal teleport portal aswell as the Portal itself.

Didn’t notice it had a nearby cave at first, so thats turned into overnight amenities for revellers too drunk to drive home.

Summary

An ancient unfortunate predator caught in the effects of a tectonic shift ..

I call him splat.

Did my best to not dig into anything, so barring HG does any resets (tectonic shifts) it should all survive well.

Hello, I recently requested a Prime umber from system, and (IF) i even get one, i have a question regarding the naming scheme, the FAQ states that this is the agreed upon format is "Original Name // MAIN FAM // Operator - [Your Prime Number]"

However, i do not know what “MAIN FAM” is, can someone please elaborate?

thank you.
