For those who have landed at quite a few abandoned space stations during the Breach Expedition,

You’ll know I mean it when I say, this was the best bug to ever happen to me

I teleported to this Space Station and even though Corvette was my default ship, it switched to the starter starship on arrival. When I changed docked ship back to my Corvette, rather than put it miles away, it placed it on a classic starship landing pad <3

Could not unfortuntaly recreate bug on subsequent tries but I’m happy to have had it happen even just the once.

I thought it was pretty funny running past other players who would just stop, halfway to the back and look around in disbelief. And none of us could complain. -kzzzt- was the word of the day.

(If you want to find this guy too he’s on a moon with 12 creatures in the starting system for Exp17Redux. It’s an underground creature and it’s REALLY fast. The original founder named it “Not a Dog” but I dubbed mine Terry the Rapid Terrior)

Someone built a base here for the redux of Expedition 17, I was flying in as it promised a shortcut through a milestone.

Growing up in Dublin, I’ve seen a lot of stylised ,high contrast, black and white imagery of James Joyce, particularly every Bloomsday from postcards to t shirts and murals.

So I only see Joyce in this image.

Yes. 3 post limit. Also, I can no longer upload more than 3 pics in one post. I have to upload 3 and save then edit to add 3 more.

I can’t upload just one photo now it seems, I tried for an hour and it just kept getting hung on processing.

Which requires me to close app and reopen, closing window in app and renavigating to draft has the processing stuck on a loop so I can’t attempt another upload

However if I try two pictures, it works almost on the first try. So if I want to post one photo, I upload two and delete one. Had to do that for my ringwraith pic yesterday after many many failed solo uploads.

I’m convinced it’s my crap phone, getting a new one today. Not just because of this, but I need a phone that can run more than one app at a time (known hardware fault in redmi phones) , I can’t confirm purchases through bank app as a result or if I navigate from a social site to double check some facts, I have to renavigate to the website and open the tab up and retype the message I forgot wasn’t going to be there on my return.

Even the first smart phone can outperform this one.

I used to always get Sony smart phones because they were responsive, functional and would last years.

They pulled out of the Irish market during the pandemic cos I guess I was the only one buying sturdy stuff and everyone was buying the fadphone

Anyway, a lot of really crap companies like Xiaomi lept into the void left by Sony and retailers are more than happy to stock product from a company with an insane failure rate because we’ve convinced people that phones are throw away replaceable tech we should expect to break on us within weeks.

Long story short, I hope to be free of mobile phone woes by the end of the evening.

My Samsung gave me headaches too. Now on Motorola. It’s better but uploading here just seems laggy. Has been that way for a while

I used to remember seeing yourself and poly talk about this but I never experienced it, then I got this phone a little over a year ago and it’s been nothing but thirty minutes of failed uploads followed by one successful one ever since.

I don’t think its an android thing since it’s same version of android as my last phone however the company has custom tailored this version of android into their own OS and I’m convinced that’s where they’ve made some glaring errors with how it interacts with certain online services and communications.

Are the images perhaps too large, too high resolution, exceeding some limit?

For me it gets hung on the processing wheel indefinitely, doesnt even return a fail state. If i close the browser tab and return to draft or even if i make a new post in a different thread to uload different images, it will show the processing image wheel where the select photo button usually is.

I have to close the actual browser app to get it to go away. This happens five or ten times in a row wether its one image or five, and its always the same images when it succeeds, so nothing to do with the images themselves.

Ive also tried different non-chrome based web browsers and it’s the same error and issue, which is what had me thinking its either an issue with my old broken phone that cant suspend apps (or receive a notification with out crashing an app) or something to do with Meta Discourse and modified android OS not interacting well.

I also tried viewing the site in desktop mode on the phone browser since I don’t have this issue when uploading from PC.

What I have noticed is that two/three photo’s seem to have a higher success rate than trying 1 photo, and one or four/five photos basically never works. Just gets hung on the processing buffer wheel loop.

Its also really hard to Google the error because whenever you type “discourse forum bug image upload stuck on processing” the search results give people having discourse, about forum bugs, and not Discourse branded forums.

If i simplify the search, i get people who operate discourse forums who are having issues getting their custom theme images to upload to their ftp and display correctly.

No, google, no, I need bug reports and solutions on the user’s end, not the operators

The final solution of buying a new phone that doesnt have broken RAM also did not proove fruitful.

But hey, i have a phone that can multitask again, had to happen sooner or later

I tried to upload a picture a few months ago and it hung in processing. I thought that it might be the 4K size (I must have changed something on the PS5 to get 4K screen shots). I resized the image to 1080p and it uploaded fine. That is not proof. It might just be that re-uploading the original would have worked. I just tried dropping 3 4K images totaling 1.5MB and it worked this time. This one is over 500K . It is a new picture of my boat base which I showed before with the new water.

I deleted the other two images, at best they belong under different topics.

I might actually check the ps5 because I don’t think i went into image capture options. If its set to 4k ill try lower to native or 1080.

I have a 4k PC monitor I play my console through but i set the ps5 to 1440p as it offers better colour range options than the full 4k option.

Major aside, while im here talking about my tech issues :

Sadly the HDR option sucks for streaming to youtube, everything looks washed out since it comes through as standard but rather than level the white and lower the blacks on youtubes end it just seems to raise both the black and white levels so everythings grey and low contrast.
