Getting a laugh out of life

It amuses me to think there’s an alternate universe out there where people have actually heard of Big Lenny.

Although, looking at those eyes, he was possibly going for the title “Took more drugs than anyone else. Ever.”

Big Lenny was a fascinating person in that he did so many things wrong or basked in his own ignorance where possible. He was fairly drug free if you don’t count the steroid abuse. Or taking a skin dying medication way too much. Yes there were a lot of drugs, but it was more the “well more must work best” approach to men’s physical health and/or machismo medication.

Machismo meds… Earth is wild.

Big Lenny died last October at 60 due to liver failure from, well, being Big Lenny.

Also strangely enough, for a guy who got famous off of a different online body builders streams, very progressive and absolutely loved him some trans prostitute’s. Supporting sex workers and those more marginalised than the rest, Big Lenny had a big Heart (or a gigantic fetish  ).

A big Lenny deep dive video on YouTube is not a wasted afternoon if you’ve not been to the circus or zoo in a bit. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll cringe but ultimately you’ll think wow, there really is no correct answer on Being Human.

Also Lenny is white. He just did everything and took everything he could to keep that year round body builder competition tan in case a competition came up. Always prepared.

Probably what also caused the organ failure, ever the professional working body builder looking for an edge to get above the rest, black market drugs or things considered toxic to humans, Lenny and his abs were there

As I said, there is an alternate universe where people know these things. Which is amusing, if you’re outside, looking in.

I’m an ambassador from that alternate universe and I’m here to talk only about our biggest stars.

Big Lenny has several institute’s of learning named after him where I’m from and it’s my job to spread their feats to your very normal and not at all weird universe.

I mean it’s weird now, yes. But that’s because I keep bringing the crap from mine over with me.

We’re very sorry for The Orange man. Very sorry indeed. Something to do with interdimensional bleed over and if I recall skimming the training manual correctly; these visits are a catalyst for a completely irreversible merging of both realities.

I promise you it was all worth it to bring the good news of Big Lenny to the people of Earth 161616.

Even the AI knows Big Lenny cannot be a real person[1]

  1. In this context, “Big Lenny” refers to a celebrated figure from an alternate universe, revered enough to have multiple educational institutions named after him. The ambassador’s exaggerated reverence and the humorous tone suggest that Big Lenny is likely a fictional or satirical character, possibly a parody of a larger-than-life celebrity or cultural icon, used here to inject humor and absurdity into the narrative about interdimensional travel and reality merging. ↩︎

BBC news said the egg was “recovered by natural means” - which made me giggle, though probably not the guy who swallowed it - it’s quite spiky.

Accurate contemporary film of Moon exploration.

Was then, and remains, one of my favourite TV shows. It’s interesting to note that in the Britain of 1969, it was perfectly acceptable for children’s shows to use words like “myriad” and “firmament”.

For those interested, this is the origin of the “Soup Dragon”.

And here I thought dragons breathed fire and lived in caves. Who knew they lived underground and produced soup.

So many go to the big city for a better life. The bright lights, the glamour, and the money. Little mention is ever made of those who don’t make it - who end up dirty, destitute, degraded and hopeless. This should serve as a lesson to everyone.

Clangers reruns got me early so I will always have a place for them. When the pull of nostalgia kicked in, I got a clangers poster when I was 13 and it remained on my wall until I moved out.

It’s still packed up somewhere with the message “park at 2 am” written on the back from when we were sneaking off to meet girls and signalling a message from a window, before the advent of everyone having the ability to message somewhat freely from their mobile devices.

My girlfriend was having a sleepover in her friends, and my friends were doing the same in mine, so we met for a rebellious teen late night summer party.

Thanks to covert operative Clanger.

We didn’t even have alcohol, just some popcorn and bowls :joy: and the garda came due to noise complaints, cos we were singing songs. They laughed when they realised we were sober and eating popcorn and asked us to practice our four piece harmonies where people can’t hear it.

They don’t play games that I’d watch someone stream but if anyone wants to see that ex get some sweet headshots or whatever, they’re a let’s play streamer now (super proud of my friend, they left school early and forged their own path to success in a career field that didn’t even exist at the time :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:)

I was in my late teens / early twenties when the Clangers first aired - so I was rather older than their target audience. I always had a soft spot for Smallfilms and Oliver Postgate - he and Peter Firmin made the animations in a garden shed, largely filmed on home-made equipment. They produced some aboslute classics - Noggin the Nog, Ivor the Engine, Bagpuss, and The Pogles.

Holy crap I forgot about Ivor :exploding_head:
