I don’t think I am ready

So I completed the game and thought I had decided who I was going to use to get out of this place, then I changed my mind at the last second…think I will rerun the end and stick with my original decision.

Well it happened, I got swept up by the Hypecart, deep in Minecraft again.

Trying out the new RTX1.31 mod that improves and fixes the RTX mode that Nvidia/Mojang have more or less forgotten about and used to mostly sell 20 series cards :stuck_out_tongue: Using the Prizma RTX pack. Come watch me fail  (I didn’t know Trial Chambers were added, or what they were, and I got absolutely DESTROYED 10 minutes into a new game )

Wait, since when does minecraft need advanced graphics card support? That thing runs on a frickin’ Raspberry Pi 3!

Reports say Oblivion remake could shadow-drop at any moment. Definitely this month.

Minecraft being extremely basic geometry wise and being incredibly popular made it the perfect testing ground for Nvidia to show off it’s new RTX tech so they collaborated with Mojang in 2020ish and made an RTX add on for the Bedrock engine, then threw it over to the modding community to maintain and create texture/lighting packs for.

Modders tend to tweak things to preference so you have some with more realistic lighting or more fantastical world type lighting or some place in between.

A lot of games that use RTX or Ray tracing tend to only use it for GI and the odd, but rarely all, surface reflection/displacement. Minecraft is one of the few (for a while one of the only) games using rtx to handle all of its lighting, thanks in part to the fact it looks like minecraft and doesn’t need all the overhead that modern games do.

With that Nvidia Remix tech now in the hands of modders there’s going to be a lot of DX9 era games also getting a similar treatment soon enough. Considering my 2060 laughed at me when I suggested we should try run the HL2 RTX demo done with it, I’ll have to wait until future me has a 40 series. Hey future me, what decade is it? Is time even a concept where you are?

Thats another big rec for Blue Prince. I also heard the Balatro guy is telling people to check it out. Will have to pop it on the wishlist so I don’t forget about it

I noticed it’s available for “free” with PS Plus Extra so if anyone happens to be subscribed to that, it certainly looks like it’s worth a shot.

Pico and the Holobook looks like something I might enjoy. Reminiscent of Bastion and other earlier ‘Supergiant Games’ games but I’ve played similar titles like this that ended up being quite hollow on closer inspection, so I will have to investigate further before I get myself too excited

Oh my! This game is the South. Just watch out for that African voodoo stuff. It’s for real!

I bit.

For any others who decide to play, one suggestion, when you open a door and the room choice comes up, remember to open the blueprint map and check which way the room will be oriented(bottom left). I missed this ability the first time. Dead ended myself

Also, once you touch a door, you must add a room. You cannot back out of that screen

I still need to get around to playing Wanderstop and it’s already been two months. But this is fast becoming a hot second. I might even get it before I get Wanderstop ;0;

Enjouy!

I played and fully completed wanderstop. I was pleasantly surprised with it. It not at all what I was expecting it to be, but im actually kind of glad about that.

Long story short, its entertaining and I think its worth the price, personally. And it serves as a nice reminder to “stop and smell the roses”.

As for Blue Prince, let me know if its any good. Its on my wishlist but im not fully convinced to buy it yet

Having seen the review, I feel very similar. I thoroughly enjoyed “The Room” and its sequels - but they were very linear. I’m not sure I want to get involved in something that deliberately and randomly frustrates and blocks the player.

I am on Day 6. So far, I am hooked. I have jotted down lots of notes and I am starting to see how the game works. There are still many rooms I have not yet seen. There are a few things that are permanent. For instance, I found the combo for something and it has given me a nice bonus which I keep and it gives me a boost each day.
The locked doors are a variable that throws me but, I found a letter which states all the blue cards are true and the red are lies…is it true? Still working on it…If true, then the west wing does not have a greater chance of locked doors but the east wing does…so when placing the rooms with 3 or 4 doors it would be best to avoid using them in the east part of the grid.
So you see how this game works. I am building a knowledge base that grows with each run and I am still finding rooms I have not explored.
The constellation for the day also affects certain things…
The first thing I do when exploring in a game, is deliberately go the way I am not intended to go. I am glad I did.
Here is a sample puzzle

Each color is a math function, + - × ÷ Remember the order of operations?
That was the trickiest one yet

Alright screw it I’m getting this on tuesday. Sorry Wanderstop.

@Jupiter.blues Glad to hear you enjoyed Wanderstop. Have you played their previous game? It’s why I’m 100% sold on the game and going in blind  But I can wait a little longer, Blue Prince first :stuck_out_tongue:

If your referring to The Stanley Parable, yes. And thats a big part of why I bought it as well. But to help focus your expectations, its nothing like The Stanley Parable. Its definitely its own thing.

Report back with Blue Prince thoughts, if you can. Im still curious about it.
