Unlocks in approximately 2 days:
Ooo, new microtransactions unlocking in 2 days? Maybe some SuRpIsE mEcHaNiCs!!! Oh goodie… ![]()
Why do I automatically read that in Jim Sterling voice? ![]()
Not a game but my daughter declares Sonic has been saved.
(almost makes you wonder if bad Sonic was staged…)
Here is a quote from EA
EA revealed the game‘s trailer during Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, alongside a panel with Respawn founder Vince Zampella. Zampella told a cheering crowd, “No multiplayer. No microtransactions. It’s a story game.” This was later confirmed by tweets from the official EA Star Wars Twitter, which also specified the company would resist the temptation to add them after the fact:
Why does it alwazs have to be jedis… It seems to be the only thing I ever get to do in a star wars game. Well, appart from the XWing series.
The problem is that they say no microtransactions, then they add them after the game launches. I’m going to wait to see what happens. Its still EA we’re talking about.
I hate microtransactions and I refuse to play any game that has loot boxes ( with the exception of AC PocketCamp, just don’t let the fortune cookies tempt you)
With this very public promise to avoid them, if EA chose to implement them anyway, it could sound a death knell for them. I rarely buy EA games with the exception of The Sims…it’s ok if you roll your eyes.
I just really, really want this game to be good. The only SW game that has been is KOTOR. And, of course, the Lego versions. ![]()
Reviews are rolling in
THE GOOD
THE BAD
THE IN BETWEEN
WIRED: ‘Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’ Is Strong With the Force.
My conclusion: I am not onboard with paying $60 for a short game. 20 hours straight through. 30 hours if you pick it clean. I will wait for it to go on sale.
THE BEST REVIEW I have seen in case you are still undecided
The Verge: Rare unveils Everwild, a new exclusive game for Xbox and Windows 10.
Valve announce sequel to Half-Life - for VR only!!
Yeah. Kinda stinks but, if it follows most VR games, it will be short. So I wonder if it is much of a game.?
i was wondering that… its not technically halflife 3
but also if Valve have a lot of money sunk into VR with headsets etc i’m hoping they are wanting to raise the standard for VR games a bit
i bought a PSVR pretty much just for NMS… which is lucky as it seems like its about the only “long term gameplay” game out for VR. For a medium that is all about immersion its a bit disappointing how casual most VR games are.
meanwhile on the new games topic: is anyone playing Death Stranding? Silent hill meets Eurotruck simulator! I’m not sure what i expected but i’m enjoying it
Not playing it. Kinda creeps me out with the baby thing…
. I hear people are enjoying it.
I don’t know about raising the standards - but they’re certainly raising the price. The game release seems timed to coincide with Valve’s launch of their new VR headset, the Index. And hey, that’s a great deal. At just under £1,000.00 each, I think I’ll rush out and buy three.
haha well, if you’re buying 3 maybe get one for me too!
yeah they are very expensive but… i am not sure its out of line with pc gaming these days, i’d be over £1000 making a PC to run VR! i’m pretty sure i’m gonna be watching this from the sidelines.
my point is that if valve can make an in depth, full length, technically impressive VR title it would be encouraging for other developers to follow suit and be beneficial for the scene in general. right now it seems like there is a fear or reluctance to commit to VR gaming, as a player i think that VR is best with deeper more involving games so anything that brings this along is good?
i mean the headline of the article says it all really “can valve tempt gamers to try VR”. i’m a gamer, i’ve got VR, i’m just waiting for someone to make decent games and not assume i’m gonna let some poxy motion sickness stop me from plugging into the matrix ![]()
thankfully HG gets it ![]()
i am very much enjoying it… DESPITE the best efforts of BB’s traumatic wailing everytime i stumble down a cliff. i did complain that i wished BB had a mute button but then my mum agreed a little too enthusiastically so i dropped it ![]()
