Future Update Speculation

Over the last few months I was hopeful HG might celebrate the 10th anniversary by giving us some insight into the games analytics and statistics… I think I brought it up a few times in the future update speculation thread at this point.

I wasn’t expecting the first bit of insight to be about how many discoveries have been named Harambe :joy:

Ten years ago this was the first thing posted in our slack after the game came out…

As of today there are 70,254 !

Sean’s about to throw the biggest curveball at us: botany update (which I would actually be up for some tweaks to more industrious food production)

I made the same joke but now I’m thinking it would be a great emoji to go with when it’s about to drop

C’mon it’s obviously a hint to a crossover with saint seiya and our soon to be cosmo powers

COSMOS update is possibly further expanding on the WORLDS updates theme, with new or varied biome & terrain planets, with perhaps an accompanying expedition requiring more complex multiple task survey or base building type missions as a way of introducing & exploring this new order of celestial bodies.

Okay, bear with me here…but lots of these?

There’s a new option to turn on Journey Narration, every step you take is accompanied by prose from Carl Sagan.

[Maybe move these type posts to the new Cosmos topic?]

I like this possibile update similar to Worlds but on a universe-wide scale. It does have logic to it. An expansion and enhancement of the No Man’s Sky cosmos. I’m drooling and keeping tissues handy to wipe my face.

Maybe the update will eclipse others in breadth of the changes.

Carl Sagan’s Cosmos: Episode 6-Travellers’ Tales on YouTube

Watching the intro I half expected the planet of Light No Fire to come into view, instead it was The Earth : D

Omega to Alpha

look at the ships top of the screen

Omega Horizon. Pre-order ship with preinstalled launching capability.

Alpha Vector, the current starter ship.

It’s a loop.

three hexagons around center, worlds part 3 in essence, third loop will close with this one.

warp circles on right, something is warping in

Sorry, couldn’t resist.

It’s what I already knσw, just cσnf1rm1ng for anyσne nσt fσ11σwing. :heart_hands: :zipper_mouth_face:

I can’t recall many if any of the artwork for an update having large planets in view that weren’t being seen from planetside.

Also strange choice to choose two planets with no water to display. The bottom right one might have what looks like pools of water, but the red one is certainly waterless but has signs that it once bore water through canyons carved into its surface.

The big red planet with no atmosphere kind of feels like its maybe hinting at an ominous new presence on planets, or planet types, maybe swarm related.

It does have me thinking of "a red star and a fragile world" quite a bit.

Well it is Cosmos so being in space makes sense. Definitely not the flower update mentioned above
The Atlas is still around but not looming quite as large as past artwork.
There is one feature that stands out. Both the red from the Atlas and the red around the planet, hang like a cloud or vapor…or…blood… :face_with_crossed_out_eyes:
