I had hopium theyd foresee this since its such a big event and submit for certification a few weeks earlier with the patches set to only appear for DL so xbox and switch arent stuck with the delay they always face. Wishful thinking on my part for the switch community.

Autophage and abandoned systems would be very cool.
But what if random/not random stars spread throughout the galaxy switch between two or more colours. A yellow star would change to red, blue, green, purple somehow.
Imagine they are black translucent stars with iridescent colour shifting horizons that mimic normal systems look, but are not, they got some special kind of flair that is unlike anything we have ever seen before.
Any base placed in this system could get most of the stuff you need without needing to warp away to find anything, a player could instead just wait for the resource wanted to appear if the colours shift to whatâs needed. Like how storm crystals behave, but its dependent on the star colour shift instead of a storm.
The black translucent star is eclipsed by the core of galaxy by density and placement of the star systems in between the two, giving the reasons to have different colours the star shifts into.
Or maybe some Queen like egg laying doorknob who has no single man left waiting too long, goes around laying her eggs that influence the systems stars before they hatch. The colour shifts would be temporary and hitting different star systems at different times cause the eggs need to incubate. And maybe this queen would only lay her eggs during an eclipse under a shadow so unless a system even has eclipses she wonât lay there at all. This could allow a predicted map of where she would lay her eggs and what systems could colour shift.

I suspect that development work continues, along with play testing for big detection and stomping. Itâs âcrunch timeâ and pre-planning an earlier finish might mean less content changes and even more bugs.
My own ridiculous hopium

Content and much of the âplayâ of past expeditions gets merged into the main game. My farfetched concept: sprinkle content and general play of expeditions around the universe. Base where a player could experience an expedition type content on:
- Type of galaxy
- Type of star system
- Type of weather or biome
- Etc.
A couple of examples:
- Those purple airborne horrors could appear on a small percentage of some type worlds in purple star systems.
- Aspects of a prior combat-focused expedition could appear in a percentage of worlds but only in harsh galaxies.
My hopium is that this also would encourage much wider exploration of the universe.

Thinking the update might be coming on a wednesday as they normally do, on the tenth anniversary of the PC release.
Sean might kick start the hype tomorrow with an emoji as hes been known to post em on a Sunday too.
Thats best case scenario right now anyway.
Things might have gotten delayed on their end of course so the big update could come much later.
Lets see how the next few days play out 
Excited for NMS10 tomorrow. Cant wait to see you all in our event system when it becomes available.

My guess too, since 28 major updates released on a Wednesday. Plus, to me, starting emoji tweets on the initial launch day would be a nice treat. But the last day that the game first launched for varied players was the 13th, so⊠?
I patiently await the arrival but with eager anticipation. 
What boggles my mind are the impatient folks claiming that since Hello Games has not said anything yet, there will be no anniversary update. (Major facepalm).
Meanwhile, I looked over old photos and started saving to an NMS10 folder ones that stood out for me. There are way too many!

Wow, no emoji necessary this time? I wonât speculate much except to say: my wife & I make an anniversary trip to the beach each year. It is uncanny typical for a NMS August update to hit the very same week (which makes for something to look forward to in coming home; nobody likes to leave the beach, especially a displaced beach bum such as myself).
Anyway, weâll be in Florida next week for our 15th. So my prediction: while you all enjoy Cosmos, Iâll have my toes in the sand and a wrinkled copy of âDungeon Crawler Carlâ splatted over my face.

Trying to remember the last time we had an update revealed before there was an Emoji, and then the emoji arrived later to let us know the update was inbound.
Was it Origins? Or was there another time after that?
I just remember those being crazy periods of amazing memes and lots of funny moments from the community while we wait for the emoji to let us know it was imminent. Like Sean Seanâs Sean.
