Sounds like an old case of the whisper game, possibly someone misunderstood the NMS10 community built website and relayed the info wrong, leading to your own confusion.
Weāre getting together this weekend to take our picture for its databases, the event build project we are working on will also be advertised there alongside all the other communities.
Hope life quiets down for you soon and you get back in the game in time for the celebrations <3

The website itself is not being broadcast, only leaders from Civs and communities who are helping to organise things for the event have been relaying to their communities what is needed for the events celebrations; event systems, group photos, that kind of thing.
So people in those communities, talking to other people about preperations; I could see news about a website for the event where the info will be advertised and easily accessible once public, could eventually just get wittled down to āHello Games is making a website for the Anniversary celebrationsā.
That isnāt to say they arenāt either, they could easily do something similar like they did with the galactic atlas before NMS:Next update came out. But as far as Iām aware, theres been zero talk from HG about such a website. So I figured maybe the special anniversary website you understand they are developing, the news of that may have originated from the former.
Unless you know something you aint telling anyone else

My time is getting consumed in caregiver type actions for someone with memory issues.
I havenāt got my replacement PC set up yet or even had much game time lately . And more contract work needed on our home is pending. Sigh

Didnt something get tested out a week early on steam experimental once? I cant recall what it was exactly, one of the expeditions maybe? Or something related to them? Theres a half kernel of a memory of something there that is telling me this.

It was the Omega expedition which we were able to test early in Steam Experimental. The testing was for the new expedition overhaul. Anomaly start from existing save etc.
