Is the new bartering mechanic only for the new bone traders, or has it also been introduced in other trade interfaces? 'Cause that would be dope! I had always thought a barter mechanic would suit the universe of NMS…
Didn’t this happen in early paleontology? The wrong head was put on the wrong Dino and on its tail? We’re just beginners, adventurous high society types with cabinets of curiositys; archaeology and all it’s offshoots haven’t even been established as a field of science yet
I was alluding to deliberate “Tomfoolery.” That has happend too, of course.
I thought I recalled Hello Games referring to “Archeology”… found it … Visions Update:
" ARCHEOLOGY
With more varied planets come more reasons to explore. Unleash your inner archeologist and search the galaxy for planets containing the ancient bones of alien lifeforms. Complete, intact skeletons are particularly rare and especially valuable."
It doesn’t bother me, but it’s an interesting use of terms.
The system’s surprisingly robust, and seems to valuate existing items / substances automatically (even those that I added myself). I made a mod to replace every trade / shop interaction with the new system, and it’s surprisingly fun trying to balance item worth with a good chance of getting an item. Much more fun than maxing out a stack and watching your units roll over!
I think we could use fixed location bouys - - the on-water equivalent to signal beacon in land. OTOH, I’d like a version that let’s us make the location visible to others even if MP is off and people can’t see us.
… One way to mark a good fishing spot or other POI in large bodies of water or oceans.
for me the most interesting part is the dynamic build menu. it now pulls the bones / displays from your inventory to build, i think that is very interesting.
LNF does have a huge beacon in it but, we see them bringing LNF assets to NMS so maybe we are getting an Expedition that helps Void Mother come thru to our reality. A beacon that can be used to merge Void Mother and Atlas together.
I feel like the Atlas will never find the solution it seeks until Atlantid is added into the program
The last update gave us bones. Perhaps they now plan to put some meat on them.
Perhaps, having assembled our skeleton, we can turn it into a functional animal.
On the other hand, he may just be saying that bacon is the Food of The Gods, the tastiest thing that has ever existed. With which I would wholeheartedly agree.
Bacon has been the downfall of nearly every vegetarian I have ever known.
