For OLD SCHOOLERS ONLY!

Happy birthday @Polyphemus , embracing age myself, loving every new grey hair and wrinkle but I’m only half way through your current journey  it’s the new clicks and groans I make when kneeling down I’m not particularly fond of :joy:

Guess I’ll stick on my dad’s copy of Sgt Pepper and have some tea in your honor :clinking_glasses:

Many thanks for the birthday wishes. The pizza party is over now, and the visitors have gone home. I’m settling down to a few glasses of wine.

@ Oshoryu, very perceptive about Ian McKellen. 25 years ago, he and I looked very little like each other. But as we aged, we sort of wrinkled up together. Now people stop me in the street, and ask for my autograph (seriously).

You might think that would be fun, but it’s actually quite embarrassing. Lots of people think I’m Ian McKellen. A very small number think I’m Gandalf. Those people, at least, are usually polite about it, and will generally accept it when I tell them I’m not.

But the people who think I’m Magneto can often be quite aggressive about it. They seem to think I’m denying it because I don’t want to be bothered with them.

(edit) The stuff about people mistaking me for Ian McKellen, Gandalf, and Magneto, is absolutely true. It’s not a joke. I do make jokes, but not this time.

@Xion4012 , @BlackIris @kerdorin,

Thank you for the birthday wishes. You got missed off the previous post, because I’m only allowed to mention 10 people.

Well, it’s better than being me. From certain angles, I look like Pablo Escobar’s wife…I also have a doppelganger here locally. People stop me all the time asking me things like, “How is everything over your way?” to which I respond, “Pretty much the same as here.” , at which point they kinda start looking away like they were talking to someone behind me. It sucks. :weary:

I need to do some research here. Like, who is Pablo Escobar? (by my next post, I promise you, I will know).

“Local doppelgangers” are just an excuse for the things you did when you were drunk. “Oh, no, it was someone who looked like me…”

BTW, for the information of the censor, all the preceding was humour. Not to be taken seriously.

Perhaps, when they ask “How is everything over your way?”, you should answer “Well, the Zoglid dimension has spawned Plootips, and Gorblik hordes are massing on the borders of Ffrunth. Better hide your muplitches”.

If nothing else, it will render life more interesting.

I will try that, if I can remember it. And yes, you will know who Escobar is as soon as you look.

WOW, thank you! :cake: :fork_and_knife: You noticed my cake.
I tend to hangout on the outskirts of Atlas CSD.

I think of it as deceptively the central core…
WT Season 1 - Loop16/Portals were key!
WT Season 2 - This time it’s VR/MMOG!
As per usual, I seem to lead the controversial.

June 19, '17 is the anniversary of the day I joined our community.

And now I recall why I originally did so…

It was because @Emily was trying to break it to people that Waking Titan and No Man’s Sky were truly connected. But the “Strictly ARG” enthusiasts couldn’t accept it. There was the “Loop16 Comm Station” located in NMS, and yet they griped, “But where’s the proof? How do we know for sure? Give us the maths!” She finally just outright said it, “I think we should all start learning about No Man’s Sky.” NMS fans got excited and wanted to talk, but as soon as they did, they’d get shot down by the “Strictly ARG” enthusiasts. True story!

That’s when I joined and started the 1st No Man’s Sky thread… Which began as “Portals” (due to the 16 cassettes) and grew into “Atlas/Loop16/Emily” (due to the comm station). But the “Atlas” subject quickly expanded into “Concepts of God”, “Atlas Foundation Technology”, and so much more.

I kept being told, “Loop16 doesn’t help the ARG progress!” And while this appeared true in the beginning, everything eventually boiled down to “Loop16”. Within 2 months, we NMS fans had excessively broke down everything “Loop16” and then sure enough, such became the most important subject of WT Season 1.

In fact, it still is.

WT Season 2?—For me, this time around specifically, it’s been pretty quiet and lonely, hanging around out here on the outskirts of controversy. Most were pretty afraid to touch the subjects of MMOG (multiplayer) or PvP (player vs player). I understand! And now, Hello Labs (Hello Games as investors/educators) and VR (virtual reality) are so particularly taboo, that it seems to be :cricket: crickets all the way.

Here’s my Season 1 and Season 2 threads…

Atlas/Loop16/Emily, Atlas Foundation/Tech, OldGods & More
